A Place with a History Well Worth a Visit . - I went to this castle 35 years ago and renovations were underway. There was not a lot done at that time, but still very impressive. 35 years later, all I can say is WOW! What a transformation! Well worth the visit and it will take the full two hours to explore. It was so sad to hear the after George Boldts wife died, he stopped construction of the castle and never set foot on the island again. It was amazing to hear that many years later, the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority took over and have almost completed construction from the original blueprints, using donations from tourists. I love a good story. What an amazing place!

Check the weather before you decide to join - Good trip except the bad weather. The castle still in reconstruction to second floor. If the boat is full, maybe not enough time for visiting the island

The 5-hour Boldt Castle Tour is NOT boring. - Don't be afraid to book the 5-hour trip. I had gone on the cruise over 50 years ago and decided that it was time to go again only this time to take in the Boldt Castle. We were given 2 hours to explore the castle and grounds and though I wondered what I'd do with any leftover time, I really could have used more. Everything is beautiful, lots of history to read on the multiple pictures and the grounds are gorgeous. The 1-1/2 hours each there & back flew by and the coffee & popcorn from the ship's snack bar were great while watching the beautiful scenery and homes float past. All of the personnel & staff that I encountered were very friendly and more than eager to share information or to be of assistance in any way. There was absolutely no problem at all in moving through the Customs on Heart Island or back in Gananoque, just don't forget to bring your passport if you're choosing the Boldt Castle tour .. it IS in New York State. Part of the reason that I was eager to take this tour was in the hopes I might acquire a Geocache from the island AND thus my first USA find .. it didn't work out as planned and I'll probably be charged roaming fees on my data. Oh well, the tour and "cruise" was well worth it.

Gananoque with view of bolt castle - Gananoque with view of bolt castle, don’t forget your passport! So much fun! You get off at the island to USA customs and get time to explore! Some food services open to buy food!

Okay but Without more - Be careful your picnics will be removed while several conceal them. Cruises have a few lengths! The viste of the castle is interesting, but not for this price! We would have liked more historical commentary on Upper Canada. We discovered the origin of the miles-Îles dressing! 😂🤩

Trip Cancelled - Trip cancelled & no communication sent informing us. Very disappointing to say the least after an one and half hour drive to Gananoque.
