- Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum - The tour begins at the scheduled time from the designated meeting point or hotel. The journey from Baku to Ganja takes approximately 4 hours. The first stop is the Mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi, located near Ganja, the birthplace of Nizami Ganjavi. The city honors him with this grand burial vault and memorial complex. The structure is a 20-meter high cylindrical marble building surrounded by a park. Nearby, a bronze monument celebrates the works of the immortal poet, with Nizami’s name engraved in gold above the entrance. Visitors spend about 20 minutes here.
- Shah Abbas Mosque - The second destination is the Shah Abbas Mosque, just a 15-minute drive from the Nizami Mausoleum. Also known as the Ganja Juma Mosque, this historic mosque was built in the 17th century in the Arran architectural style, located on the left bank of the Ganja River in the historical center of Ganja. It is a major attraction of the city, featuring two tall minarets and a dome with intricate decoration. The mosque continues the portal-dome traditions of medieval Azerbaijani architecture in its overall design, planning, and artistic features. The main building dates back to 1606. Visitors will spend 15-20 minutes here.
- Turkish Bath House Chokek - The next stop is Chokak Hamam, a 17th-century historical bath located just 5 minutes by car from the Shah Abbas Mosque. This architectural monument was built in 1606 by order of Shah Abbas. Known by various names among locals, it is sometimes called the “Shah Abbas Hamam.” Traditional materials such as red bricks, egg whites, clay, and a lime-based binding mixture were used in its construction. The bathhouse is still operational today. Visitors will spend 20 minutes here.
- Bottle House - The tour continues to the Bottle House, a local icon in Ganja, Azerbaijan, just a 5-minute drive from Chokak Hamam. This creative house is constructed entirely from colorful glass bottles. The unique private house is made from over 50,000 glass bottles, each carefully placed to form intricate patterns that give the building its distinctive appearance. Visitors will spend approximately 15 minutes here.
- Karvansaray of Shah Abbas - The next destination is the Medieval Caravanserai, a 3-minute drive or an 8-minute walk from the Bottle House. The Shah Abbas Caravanserai is a must-see in Ganja, a significant center for trade and craftsmanship in the Near and Middle East. Construction began in 1606 by order of the Safavid ruler Shah Abbas I and was completed in 1613-1614. This stunning building, built in an oriental style, features 15 halls and 54 cells, with designated areas for pack animals in the yard. Burnt bricks and a mixture of egg white, lime, and clay were used in its construction. Visitors will spend approximately 15 minutes here.
- Khan Bagy Park - The sixth destination is Khan Baghi Park, a 5-minute drive from the Medieval Caravanserai. This is one of the most notable historical landmarks in Ganja, Azerbaijan. The garden offers both locals and tourists a peaceful retreat with its unique blend of nature and history. Established in the 18th century, Khan Bagi is a key part of the city’s heritage, reflecting Ganja’s rich cultural and architectural traditions. Visitors will explore the garden’s features, including stone walls, fountains, and pathways, many of which have been preserved over the centuries. Visitors will spend approximately 20 minutes here.
-
Imamzadeh Mausoleum - The final destination is the Mausoleum of Imamzadeh, a 20-minute drive from Khan Baghi. The Imam-zade Mausoleum is a Muslim relic and one of the main landmarks of the city, surviving from time immemorial. It is the mausoleum of Sheikh Ibragim, holding significant religious importance for Muslims as it is believed to be the final resting place of an important figure from the Prophet Muhammad’s family. The mausoleum’s rich history and architectural beauty make it a must-visit for those exploring Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage. Visitors will spend approximately 15 minutes here.
The tour concludes here, and guests return to Baku. The drive back to the drop-off point takes 4 hours and 30 minutes. Guests are dropped off at the meeting point or hotel.
