- Garni Temple - The Temple of Garni stands as the sole Greco-Roman colonnaded structure in Armenia and the former Soviet Union. This Ionic pagan temple, situated in the village of Garni, Armenia, is renowned as a symbol of pre-Christian Armenia. It is among the oldest landmarks in Kotayk and all of Armenia, surviving from the pagan era. Historians credit its construction to the ancient Armenian King Trdat, who embraced Christianity as the official religion in 301. However, many scholars believe it was built in the 1st century AD.
- The Monastery of Geghard - Geghard is a medieval monastery located in the Kotayk province of Armenia, partially carved into the adjacent mountain and surrounded by cliffs. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with enhanced protection status.
- Monastery Sevanavank - Sevanavank is a monastic complex situated on a peninsula on the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, near the town of Sevan. Originally, the monastery was constructed on the southern shore of a small island. According to an inscription in one of the churches, the monastery of Sevanavank was established in 874 by Princess Mariam, the daughter of Ashot I (who became king a decade later). The complex’s two churches, Surp Arakelots meaning the “Holy Apostles” and Surp Astvatsatsin meaning the “Holy Mother of God”, are both cruciform plan structures with octagonal tambours and are quite similar in appearance. Nearby are the remnants of a gavit, whose roof was initially supported by six wooden columns.
