Pergamon – Thyatira - Izmir (Breakfast)

Pergamon Ancient City - Travel to Pergamum, one of the Seven Churches of Asia [Rev. 1:11; 2:12]. Explore the impressive Acropolis, the Asklepieion, and see the Altar of Zeus, referred to as the Throne of Satan in the book of Revelation.

Izmir – Sardis – Philadelphia - Laodicea – Hierapolis (Breakfast, Dinner)

Sardis (Sardes) - Depart early for Sardis, one of the most scenic locations among the Seven Churches of Asia [Rev. 1:11; 3:1-4], now known as Sart.

Laodicea - Continue to Laodicea [Rev. 1:11; 3:14; Col. 2:1; 4:13-16]. Visit the ancient theater, basilica remains, and stone water pipes. Explore the Gate of Domitian, the Arcadian Way, the 2nd-century AD Theater, the Nymphaion, the Temple of Apollo, the Plutonium, and the Necropolis.

Hierapolis & Pamukkale - Travel to the healing city of Hierapolis, known for its white “cotton fortress” where hot mineral water cascades over cliffs forming pools.

Pamukkale - Ephesus - Kusadasi (Breakfast, Dinner)

Ancient City of Ephesus - Journey to Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of the Ionian League, located near Izmir. As a port city, it was a major hub for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk along marble streets lined with historic public buildings, including the Baths of Scholastica and the Library of Celsus, built in the early 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila in memory of his father, Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of the Province of Asia. The Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater, built in the 3rd century B.C. and expanded by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. to accommodate 24,000 spectators, are among the most impressive structures in Ephesus.

Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - Located on the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary was declared a pilgrimage site by the Archbishop of Izmir in 1892 after its discovery. It is believed that Mary lived here with St. John from 37 A.D. until her death in 48 A.D. Pope Paul VI visited and prayed here on July 26, 1967.

The Basilica of Saint John - After visiting the House of Virgin Mary, travel to St. John’s Basilica, where it is believed that the evangelist St. John spent his final years and was buried on the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill.

The Temple of Artemis - Visit the Temple of Artemis, once one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, as the final stop before returning to Kusadasi.

Kusadasi Gazi Begendi Park - On the return journey to Kusadasi, drive through Gazibegendi Park. Arrive at the hotel for an overnight stay in Kusadasi.
