A must do!!! - This was an awesome trip! I recommend to everyone visiting the area. The staff was extremely helpful and our driver Mario was extremely knowledgeable and made every attempt to show us everything during our trip! This is way more affordable than purchasing it through the cruise ship! Enjoy and don’t forget to bring gloves!!!

Geiranger up close - Having already come down the fjord on a cruise ship I debate about doing this RIB tour but it was absolutely worth it. The boat takes you up very close to a series of tower falls and the pilot gives a brilliant explanation of the history of the area. They dress you in full protective gear with inflatable life jacket, so you won’t get cold, or be in an any danger. Great fun, and a great way to see Geiranger up close.

Something to do in Geiranger. Easy to find. Well organized. Just okay. - We booked on-line in advance of our cruise. Overall, we didn't find the RIB tour that exciting or terribly informative. I was gaging the faces of people getting off the previous RIB tour and ours and people weren't thrilled and excited, just kinda ho-hum. That's how we felt. It's quite expensive and you can see the same views on the cruise ship. We'd never been on a RIB and it was something memorable to do in Geiranger. We felt the operation was organized and well run. CHECK-IN The dark wooden building where you check in is a two minute walk from the cruise dock and easy to find. It's slightly set back from the street. PULL ON A DRY SUIT You check in with staff and then find a dry suit of the many hanging up that will fit you and pull it on over your existing clothing. (You will then feel like the Michelin Man!) I don't think one speck of water got on me during the RIB tour! WALK TO THE DOCK As a group, you walk through the town a few minutes and board a RIB boat at the dock. BRING A HAT The boat tour takes place. You go fast and see a couple of waterfalls, walls of the fjord, other vessels and get some narration. I noticed most of the staff were not Norwegian. I recommend wearing a hat. You can take photos from the boat. DO EVERYTHING IN REVERSE You return to the dock, exit the RIB, walk back to the check-in building and remove your dry suit. That's it! Note: We recommend Geiranger Brygge for a beer afterwards which is directly behind the RIB tour building. If you found this review useful, please click the thumbs-up button. Thx.
