The track winds up the mountainside, through forests, tunnels carved in rock, and over viaducts. Enter the realm of the high mountains, and as you round the final bend, feel the enchantment of arriving at the foot of the renowned Mer de Glace glacier, at an elevation of 1,913 meters.

This majestic glacier, spanning 4 miles (7km) in length and averaging just under a mile in width, is nestled amidst the towering peaks of Les Drus, Les Grandes Jorasses, and Les Grands Charmoz. The Montenvers location serves as a living testament to the climate changes affecting our planet.

- Please note that if you take the Aiguille du Midi and Mer de Glace options, you will be provided with a multipass. Multipass which gives access to all the facilities of the Mont Blanc company. If you use this Multipass for a single activity, it will be considered by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc as used and cannot be refunded if the other activities are closed. The Mont Blanc company offers alternative activities but does not authorize refunds of the multipass.
