- Montenvers - Mer de Glace - In the afternoon, take the charming red cogwheel train to Glacier Mer de Glace. The journey takes about twenty minutes, climbing 1,000 meters to reach the Montenvers-Mer de Glace site. The track ascends the mountainside, passing through forests, tunnels carved into the rock, and over viaducts. As you enter the high mountain realm and round the final bend, you’ll feel the enchantment: you’ve arrived at the base of the renowned Mer de Glace glacier, at an elevation of 1,913 meters.

Hop on the charming red cog railway to Montenvers, where you’ll be treated to spectacular views of Mer de Glace. This magnificent glacier stretches 4 miles (7 km) long and averages just under a mile wide. Encircled by the impressive peaks of Les Drus, Les Grandes Jorasses, and Les Grands Charmoz, the Montenvers site serves as a natural testament to the climate change of our time.

- The operation of the Aiguille du Midi cable car and Mer de Glace train are both subject to local weather conditions on the day, we cannot know befor we leave if activities will be open
- Please note that if you take the Aiguille du Midi and Mer de Glace options, you will be provided with a multipass. Multipass which gives access to all the facilities of the Mont Blanc company. If you use this Multipass for a single activity, it will be considered by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc as used and cannot be refunded if the other activities are closed. The Mont Blanc company offers alternative activities but does not authorize refunds of the multipass.
- Due to maintenance works, some attractions will be temporarily closed: Mer de Glace (03.11 - 21.11) & Aiguille du Midi (03.11 - 19.12). Alternatives will be offered.
