This cathedral is dedicated to St. Peter the Apostle and was originally named “Saint-Pierre-ès-liens” (in reference to the Roman basilica).
In July 2009, Saint-Pierre Cathedral of Geneva was included in the “European Heritage” list of honor due to its significant historical-cultural value for European history.
