Trek to Deurali

Deurali - Begin the next morning with a walk along a winding path through the forest. Descend into dense woodlands with bamboo groves to arrive at Bamboo.

Bamboo is a small settlement catering to trekkers with numerous excellent lodges. It is nestled in a river gorge surrounded by forests of rhododendron, pines, and bamboo.

From Bamboo, the walk is gradual through the woods with gentle ascents to reach Dovan, located within the Modi River gorge.

The adventure gradually brings us closer to our goal and highlights, as the path winds through the forest past the Himalaya Hotel. This is situated next to the large overhanging Hinko Cave, directly beneath the Annapurna South and Huin-Chuli peaks.

From the Himalaya Hotel, descend near the Modi River, then take a short climb to reach Deurali for an overnight stop. Beyond Deurali, the tall tree lines give way to short alpine bushes.

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) at 4,130 m – 06 hrs.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek - An early morning walk from Deurali leads to a climb following the raging Modi River up to Machhapuchhre Base Camp, located beneath the North Face of Machhapuchhre Himal, also known as ‘Fish Tail’.

After a refreshing stop at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, a few hours’ walk brings you to the main highlight at Annapurna Base Camp. From Machhapuchhre, the Annapurna Sanctuary begins, leading right up to the base camp. The walk continues with short ascents to reach a vast field or plateau within the sanctuary, surrounded by a range of peaks. Soon, you will arrive at the welcome signpost of Annapurna Base Camp.

Reach the final destination and highest point of the trek at over 4,130 m, situated beneath towering peaks such as Mt. Annapurna and others like Gangapurna and Annapurna South.

In this premier Himalayan trekking region, Annapurna Base Camp offers excellent facilities. Cozy lodges provide a variety of foods and rooms with stunning views of the Annapurna peaks.

Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo 2,345 m – 06 hrs

Sinuwa - After enjoying a wonderful time at Annapurna Base Camp, the morning walk leads to a nearly six-hour descent. With a few short ascents, reach Bamboo, re-entering the tree lines and lush vegetation. After approximately six hours of walking, stop for an overnight stay at Bamboo.

Trek Beyond Jhinu Village 1,780 m and Drive to Pokhara – 07 hrs.

Pokhara Lakeside - On the return journey, head back to Chomrong with some ups and downs. After Chomrong, reach a hilltop where the route diverts to a new area towards the charming hill village of Jhinu.

Jhinu offers a refreshing natural hot spring for those interested. It is just a half-hour downhill walk to the hot spring, which features two warm pools near the rushing Modi River.

Continue walking downhill past farm villages, following the Modi River downstream to reach the lower, warmer farm areas at Kyumi village. Afterwards, drive back to the beautiful city of Pokhara, near Phewa Lake, for an overnight stay in comfortable hotels.

Drive or Fly Back to Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

Kathmandu Valley - Depending on the group size, travel by Tourist Coach or private car to return to Kathmandu. If time permits in the afternoon, engage in personal activities and shopping.

(Options include flying from Pokhara to Kathmandu, a 30-minute flight offering panoramic views of mountains and dramatic landscapes. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, transfer back to your hotels.)
