- Citadelle (Citadel) - The Citadel or Castle of Namur is a historic fortress located in Namur, the capital of Wallonia, at the meeting point of the Sambre and Meuse rivers. Originally from the Roman era, it has been reconstructed multiple times. Its current design was crafted by Menno van Coehoorn and later enhanced by Vauban following the 1692 siege. It is recognized as a Major Heritage site of Wallonia. The original citadel dates back to 937, reaching its current size between 1631 and 1675 under Dutch rule. This part was named “Terra Nova” to differentiate it from the smaller Médiane fort built nearby in 1542 and subsequent years. Various additional positions were constructed in the 18th century. It ceased to be a military post in 1891, replaced by a new ring of forts around Namur designed to protect the city from artillery attacks. This ring became known as the Fortified Position of Namur in the 1930s.
- Cathedral de St-Aubain (St. Aubain Cathedral) - St. Aubin’s Cathedral in Namur, Wallonia, is the only cathedral in Belgium built in the academic Late Baroque style. It was the sole church constructed as a cathedral in the Low Countries after 1559, following the reorganization of most dioceses in the Netherlands. It is designated as part of Wallonia’s Major Heritage by the Walloon Region.

Namur stands as the capital of the Wallonia region in Belgium. It’s home to the Citadel, a medieval fort at the meeting point of the Meuse and Sambre rivers, featuring 7km of underground tunnels, gardens, vantage points, and a golden turtle statue. The city also houses the Felicien Rops Museum, showcasing the art of the 19th-century, Namur-born erotic artist. The baroque structure of St. Loup Church, with its marble pillars and elaborately carved roof, is another attraction.
