our trip to Giethroon - Recently I went to Netherlands with my family. That time, we went for this trip. We had been to this few years back and my wife liked the place very much. She wanted to go again and so we went. It reminded us Venice though this place is much smaller compared to venice. It is a nice place and one hour boat ride with cheese tasting was also a good experience. Overall it is worth visiting.

Well worth it - Giethoorn was so beautiful. Even though the flowers weren’t in full bloom, it was a stunning place. The guide we had was very insightful and full of knowledge. Going between English and Spanish. The guide on the boat was funny and nice. Had lots of laughs as well as knowledge of the town. The cheese platter was also amazing and will definitely have to order some cheese when I get back home.

City & Guide were Amazing - To sum up Our trip 1. The Guide " Rick", a Dutch with great sense of Humor, explained a lot of the Dutch culture as well as the city we were heading to. 2. The Guide had a great planning of the information along the way. First, when we embarked, he explained the stories behind many buildings we saw, then he transitioned to stories and history about Giethoorn as we got closer to our destination, leaving us in the city center with much information latching to our minds. 3. The boat trip with cheese platter, was amazing, and the boat guide was also friendly. 4. The guide "Rick", on the way back, have explained the water engineered landscapes with a map to wrap up the history and how the Dutch provinces came to be. 5. The driver "Paul" was professional and friendly and was quick to help whenever a passenger needed. 6. The company provided a great meeting point, where they allowed us to sit in a cafe until the trip start.

Book the early tour! - Giethoorn get super busy in the afternoon and there is essentially only one road through the village. Loved there early departure tour we could walk around without being crowded and leave before the mayhem. Even the canals have traffic jams , so I was happy to be in a large tour boat with an experienced driver telling us the history of the place. I would personally not bother to rent my own boat as you just contribute to the congestion .
