Lovely half day getaway from Paris. - Great half-day trip not far from Paris. Gardens are beautiful and the trip itself is lovely once you leave the city behind. Crowded but manageable. Fred was a fantastic tour guide. We immediately booked another trip with Fred that we did not otherwise plan to do. Recommended.

Kevin was a great guide.... - Kevin was a great guide. He is knowledgeable, friendly, kind and he gave us sine restaurant recommendations for the rest of our stay in Paris. Do go in the morning as it is very crowded.

Beautiful gardens. Very special place - We were picked up promptly by our guide at our hotel in Paris. It is an hour and half drive to Giverney.
Note you must have a private guide to get "skip the line" entrance to the property. But this does not allow you to skip ahead of others when entering the house. The lines to get in the house get long. We went early, right at opening. It only took us 10--15 minutes in line, but by the time we finished the lines appeared to be twice as long.
None of the artwork in the house of his are original. The Japanese prints hanging in the house are Monet's.
The gardens are beautiful. Full of tulips and lilacs when we were there. No water lillies though since it was April. The town is very small. Easy walk to the church where he married Alice and his grave.
It's a special place that will give you more appreciation of his art when you see it hanging in galleries. But very crowded with tourists. Be patient.

Highlight of our trip - highly recommend for anyone visiting Paris and looking for a beautiful trip outside of the city - This tour and our guide were amazing! I can’t say enough about how great the tour was - the hotel pickup was convenient, and our tour guide Anne Laure was the BEST. She was so knowledgeable and kind and guided us through the beautiful Monet house and gardens, and it was the perfect balance of guided tour and some pre-planned time for us to explore on our own. The timing was perfect and our guide was able to get us in without waiting in any serious lines, which had formed after we entered. I appreciated the insights on Monet and her thoughtfulness on timing of which parts of the tour to conduct first. She also showed us some beautiful French countryside scenery on the drive home The whole group agreed this tour was the highlight of our trip - would definitely recommend for those visiting Paris and looking for a beautiful trip just outside the city. Thank you Anne Laure for being such an insightful and thoughtful guide!

Fabulous but very crowded - The experience at the house and gardens is amazing, just be aware there will be big crowds, we were there at 10am and could barely move around due to the amount of people, the house was overcrowded, in the gardens there was so many people it was a traffic jam, it’s a great experience and I’d recommend it but just expect the crowds.

Over rated and not worth the visit - Far too busy and because of no crowd control and restricting visitor numbers - it’s just a very unpleasant experience.
We didn’t manage to get in the house as the queue was about a mile long and in blazing heat too hot to join. Also couldn’t find the exit because of the volume of bodies. Went out the entry gate and was shouted out for doing this.
Instead of paying to visit an overgrown messy garden, a house you can’t get into, go straight to the art gallery where it’s got air con, and less busy. The cafe is VERY slow with service.
