Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, and Memphis
Pyramids of Giza - Upon arrival at the Giza pyramids, begin the tour with the Great Pyramid, one of the ancient Seven Wonders, commissioned by King Cheops. Standing at 146 meters tall, covering 1,000 square meters, and constructed with over 2.4 million stones weighing seven million tons, it is a marvel to behold. Enjoy a walk around before heading to the panoramic view, where all the pyramids align perfectly, offering a fantastic photo opportunity. On the way to the Great Sphinx, pause at the Pyramid of Khafre, which is 139 meters high, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, standing at 66 meters. Experience the awe of the Great Sphinx, with its lion’s body and human head, situated behind the Valley Temple of the second pyramid.
Memphis and Saqqara - Memphis, the Latin name for Egypt’s first capital, originally called Mn-Nefer, meaning “the beautiful town,” was also known as Pr-hedj, or “the white house.” Founded by the first king of the first dynasty, Menes, around 3400 BC, visitors can explore remnants of ancient temples, particularly from the reign of Ramses II, including the grand statue of Ramses II, the alabaster sphinx, and the statue of the holy trinity of Memphis: Ptah, Nefertem, and Sekhmet.
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Located 20 kilometers south of Giza, Saqqara is the oldest necropolis, linked to Memphis, Egypt’s first capital. It features the Step Pyramid, the world’s first pyramid and the first stone complex, built by King Djoser of the 3rd dynasty. Saqqara became one of Egypt’s largest cemeteries, used until the Greco-Roman period.

Egyptian Museum, Cairo Citadel, Old Cairo, and Old Bazaar
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Begin at the National Egyptian Museum, one of the world’s oldest and most significant museums, established in 1901. It reflects ancient Egyptian history from the prehistoric period to the Greco-Roman era, housing 120,000 artifacts. Among its treasures is the world-renowned collection from Tutankhamun’s tomb, discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings, featuring over 3,500 masterpieces.
Coptic Cairo - Travel to Old Cairo, or Coptic Cairo, part of Old Cairo, which includes the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and numerous other Coptic churches and historical sites. Christian tradition holds that the Holy Family visited this area, staying at the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga). Coptic Cairo was a stronghold for Christianity in Egypt until the Islamic era, although most current church buildings were constructed after the Muslim conquest in the 7th century.
Cairo Citadel - The Cairo Citadel, ordered by King Saladin, is the largest fortress and castle from the medieval period, covering 153,000 square meters. Built between 1176 and 1183 CE to protect Cairo from Crusaders, Saladin used stones from the Giza Pyramids to expedite construction. It served as a royal court from Al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalaoun to Muhammad Ali Pasha in 1807 CE, who constructed two grand palaces, Salamlik and Haremlik, and the magnificent Muhammad Ali Alabaster Mosque between 1828 and 1848 CE, perched atop the Citadel.
Khan Al-Khalili - Visit Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, a major market in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. The bazaar district is a key attraction for both tourists and locals.
