Day 1: Pyramids of Giza, Sakkara, Memphis, and Dahshure
Pyramids of Giza - A representative will collect you from your hotel in Cairo or Giza to begin your visit to the Giza plateau. Here, you will marvel at the Pyramids of Cheops “Khufu,” the sole survivor of the ancient world’s seven wonders. Continue to explore the pyramids of Chephren, Mykerinus, and six queen pyramids.
Next, proceed to Memphis, established by King Menes, which served as Egypt’s capital during the Old Kingdom. It was the cultural and political hub of Egypt for over 3000 years. Today, it features an open-air museum with the colossal statue of Ramses II, left unfinished and lying on its back. You will also see the alabaster Sphinx of Memphis. Then, head to the Sakkara area to visit the step pyramid, the first pyramid ever constructed in Egypt.
Continue to Dahshur to view the red pyramid and the bent pyramid, both built for Senefru, the first pharaoh of the 4th dynasty. These visits will provide insight into the historical evolution of pyramid construction.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
Day 2: Egyptian Museum, Citadel, and Khan Khalili Bazaar
Cairo Citadel - A representative will pick you up from your hotel to begin your tour at the Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the renowned collection of the boy-king Tutankhamun.
Next, visit the Salah El-Dien Citadel, also known as “the Castle of Salah El-Dien,” and admire the alabaster mosque, considered the most beautiful mosque in Egypt, built by Mohamed Ali.
The final stop will be at Khan El Khalili Bazaar, the oldest and largest bazaar in the Middle East, famous for trading gold, fine silver, perfumes, copper, brassware, leather, antiques, and more.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
Day 3: Old Cairo Coptic & Islamic
Coptic Cairo - Visit the Amr Ibn Alas Mosque, the oldest mosque in Egypt and Africa, dating back to 642 A.C. It has been reconstructed numerous times, resulting in a significantly different appearance from its original form.
The Hanging Church is a highly recommended religious site for both Copts and Muslims visiting Egypt. Its unique shape and size, built over the Babylon Fortress, give it its name. Its construction dates back to the 3rd century AD.
Ben Ezra Synagogue, dating back to the 9th century, is housed in a former church built in the 4th century, making it a remarkable attraction in Old Cairo. Notably, it once contained an ancient copy of the Old Testament, believed to have been written by the Prophet Ezra. Additionally, it is thought to be the location where Baby Moses’s basket was found and taken to the Pharaoh’s wife.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
