Pyramids of Giza - Giza Pyramids, Sphinx
The tour guide will pick up guests from their hotel at 8:00 AM to embark on a full-day tour visiting the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, with insights from an Egyptologist guide. Guests can enjoy a panoramic view, capturing all pyramids in one photo, and have the opportunity for a camel ride before transferring to the Sphinx.
Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Guests can walk around the Great Pyramid, touch it, and take memorable photos next to it. There is also time to explore the interior if desired.
Great Sphinx - The tour continues to the Great Sphinx, featuring a pharaoh’s head and a lion’s body, dating back to Khephren’s era. It was built to guard King Chefren’s pyramid. Next, visit the Valley Temple, associated with Chefren’s pyramid, where mummification processes took place before burial. The tour then proceeds to Memphis.
Memphis and Sakkara - Visit Memphis, founded by King Menes, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, and a cultural hub for over 3000 years. Guests will see the Statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx of Memphis before heading to the Sakkara Pyramids.
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The final stop is the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure, built for King Djoser in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC), before returning to the hotel.
Day Tour: Visit the Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo Bazaar
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - A private tour guide will pick up guests from their Cairo hotel. The Egyptologist guide will lead a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to the Tutankhamun treasure and Akhenaton statues. Guests can opt to visit the Mummy room. The museum houses approximately 250,000 artifacts. The tour then proceeds to the Salah El Din Citadel.
Cairo Citadel - Visit the magnificent “Citadel of Saladin Al Ayouby,” constructed in the 12th century to protect Cairo from the Crusaders. It served as the seat of the king and government for many centuries, under the Ayyubids, Mamluks, and some Ottomans. The tour includes the Great Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha, a landmark with its vast space, beautiful wall decorations, and impressive domes and minarets. The tour guide and driver will then transfer guests to the Bazaar.
Khan Al-Khalili - Explore the bustling Khan el Khalili bazaar in Cairo. Discover how this famous market may have inspired Christopher Columbus to explore America. Browse stalls selling handmade crafts, paper products, and local goods while practicing bargaining skills. As a private tour, guests can decide how much time to spend at each destination, ensuring a personalized experience. Travelers may choose to visit the Papyrus Institute to learn about this renowned artwork. Guests will be transferred back to their hotel after the trip.
Coptic Cairo - In “Coptic Cairo,” guests will visit the “Hanging Church,” dating back to the 3rd Century AD and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is called “Hanging” due to its location above the gatehouse of the ancient Roman fortress “Babylon.” The church contains 110 holy icons depicting beautiful religious scenes.
The tour continues to “Saint Sergius and Bacchus Church,” believed to be built on the site (The Crypt) where the holy family rested at the end of their journey into Egypt.
The Coptic Cairo tour concludes with a visit to the “Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra,” which gained importance from its Geniza (storeroom) discovered in the 19th century, containing a treasure of abandoned Hebrew secular and sacred manuscripts.
