Cairo Citadel - Cairo Citadel: The Saladin Citadel of Cairo was constructed between 1176 and 1183 to defend the city. It served as the residence of the king and his government in Egypt for many years, from its construction until the Ottoman era.

Mosque of Muhammad Ali - The Mosque of Mohamed Ali: Also known as the Alabaster Mosque, it is one of Egypt’s most fascinating mosques. It stands prominently on the highest point within the Citadel of Saladin’s courtyard. The architect, Yousif Boushnaq, was a Turkish man who traveled from Istanbul specifically to build this magnificent mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt from 1805 to 1849.
