- Pyramids of Giza - Begin your tour by visiting the Giza Pyramids, where you will explore the Great Pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. The Giza pyramid complex includes the Great Pyramid (also known as the Pyramid of Cheops or Khufu, built around 2580 – 2560 BC), the slightly smaller Pyramid of Khafre (or Chephren) located a few hundred meters to the southwest, and the more modest Pyramid of Menkaure (or Mykerinos) situated a few hundred meters further southwest.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was linked to a causeway, which was largely destroyed during the village’s construction.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, with many found in a well in the temple’s floor by Mariette in 1860.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple.
- Great Sphinx - The Sphinx dates back to the reign of King Khafre. In the New Kingdom, Amenhotep II dedicated a new temple to Hauron-Haremakhet, which was expanded by later rulers.
- The Egyptian Museum in Cairo - The Egyptian Museum is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and boasts the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities worldwide. The museum showcases an extensive collection from the Predynastic Period to the Greco-Roman Era.
The building’s architect was chosen through an international competition in 1895, the first of its kind, and was won by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. The museum was inaugurated in 1902 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II and has become a historic landmark in downtown Cairo, housing some of the world’s most magnificent ancient masterpieces.
Among the museum’s unparalleled collection are the complete burials of Yuya and Thuya, Psusennes I, the treasures of Tanis, and the Narmer Palette, which commemorates the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under one king. The museum also features the splendid statues of the great kings Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.
- Khan Al-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili (Arabic: خان الخليلي) is a renowned bazaar and souq in Cairo’s historic center. Established as a trade center during the Mamluk era and named after one of its historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has become a major attraction for both tourists and Egyptians. It is home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops producing traditional crafts and souvenirs. The name Khan el-Khalili originally referred to a single building in the area; today, it denotes the entire shopping district.
The tour concludes with a drop-off at the customer’s hotel in Cairo.
