- Pyramids of Dahshur - Meet the Egyptologist or tour guide at the designated pick-up location and begin the journey to the Dahshur cemetery. Explore the Bent Pyramid, constructed between 2613-2589 BC under Pharaoh Sneferu’s reign. This was the first attempt at creating a smooth-sided pyramid. Pharaoh Sneferu also commissioned the Red Pyramid, considered the first complete pyramid due to its fully constructed, smooth sides, standing independently at a height of 104 meters with a 43-degree angle.
Next, visit the Black Pyramid, made of mud bricks, dating back to Pharaoh Amenemhat III’s reign during the Middle Kingdom. It remains the most prominent monument at the site after Sneferu’s pyramids. The polished granite pyramidion, or capstone, of the Black Pyramid is displayed in the main hall of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
- Dahshur Lake - Continue the tour to Dahshur Lake, capturing photos of the lake and pyramids. Visit the rural farm to relax among mango and palm trees, and enjoy a lunch featuring farm-fresh products. The meal includes a variety of dishes such as chicken, rice, salads, pancakes, aged cheeses, honey (molasses), with desserts like sweet potatoes, dates, and fresh seasonal fruits. Hot and cold drinks, including mint tea and coffee, will also be available.
Stroll around the farm, experiencing the lush Nile Valley, local communities, and simple villages. Learn about the farming and irrigation processes, and see various crops like wheat, clover, onions, garlic, and corn. Enjoy an adventure at the lake to witness the sunset over the Bent and Red Pyramids. Visit an orphanage community with carpet and rug schools, where they demonstrate traditional carpet weaving using looms, just like the ancient Egyptians. Finally, return to the hotel.
