Here, you will marvel at the pyramids of King Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. The tour continues with a visit to the Valley Temple of Khafre, the site where King Khafre’s royal body was received. This temple was constructed for the mummification process of King Khafre. • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid is the only surviving wonder of the ancient seven wonders, standing tall today! It was the tallest building on earth for over 3800 years. The complex includes a valley temple, currently buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman; diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, though the site remains unexcavated. • Khafre’s Pyramid - The second tallest pyramid in the complex is dedicated to King Chefren or Khafre. The entire complex is well-preserved, allowing you to explore the valley temple and the causeway of King Khafre with your Egyptologist. • Menkaure Pyramid - The smallest pyramid on the Giza plateau, now standing at about 61 meters high, the Menkaure pyramid is unique due to its granite outer layer, which remains on the lower part of the pyramid. The granite was quarried from Aswan, over 1000 kilometers away from Giza!
