Excellent Service and well organized - We had a well-organized and highly enjoyable tour. Basem from Egypt Gold delivered excellent service, keeping in constant, prompt touch with us. Our driver, Mehmoud, was fantastic—we especially loved his ever-present smile and smooth driving. His smart use of translation technology made communication effortless. A great highlight was when he took us to a local spot to enjoy some genuinely nice falafel. Good value for money!

Another beautiful day in Cairo - We had another great day out with Ahmed and Homos on our last day in Cairo. We told Ahmed a place we wanted to visit and he came up with a perfect plan for us. Ahmed is extremely knowledgeable as always and also so passionate about history and civilisations of Egypt. His guiding style made us want to learn more. He also allowed us to go at our own pace so we could spend extra time at the museum answering every single questions. I feel so lucky to have him as our guide. With Ahmed our short visit wasn’t mere sightseeing, it was a wonderful learning experience. We had another guide on our second day and we really wish we’d had Ahmed and Homos throughout. I cannot recommend Ahmed enough. He’s THE guide every visitor should have.

A day full of history and beauty - The experience was amazing from the beginning to the end. Our guide, Hoda, explained every detail about the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum with passion and clarity. The Tutankhamun mask was fascinating, and the sunset faluca ride was the perfect icing for an unforgettable day.

Be Alert When Booking - I booked a tour with Trip Egypt Gold and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The guide, Basem Akram, provided was knowledgeable and informative about the historical sites. However, we were extremely concerned by what appeared to be coordinated commission-based practices that worked against us as visitors rather than protecting us. At the Pyramids, when I expressed to him an interest in purchasing a scarf, the guide directed me to a specific vendor described as a “friend.” The price quoted was 1,300 EGP per scarf, when similar items elsewhere were approximately 250 EGP. We were later taken to another shop where we paid 149 USD for two T-shirts and scarves , significantly above reasonable market prices. In addition, the guide offered to help exchange my large notes without being asked. The change provided included South African currency mixed in with Egyptian pounds, with amounted to nothing and did not equate which I only realised later. He took advantage that i was still familiarising myself with the local currency, tand his placed me at a clear disadvantage. When I raised these concerns later that day, the guide became dismissive and left us to return to our hotel with an unknown driver. This was both unsettling and unprofessional. Upon returning to the hotel and explaining what had occurred, staff confirmed that the prices we had been charged were excessive and we were scammed. While the historical commentary was good, I cannot recommend this company based on the overall experience. Visitors should remain extremely cautious regarding purchases and currency exchanges, and be mindful of potential commission-based arrangements.
