Pyramids of Giza - The Egypt Royal Tours guide will be ready to greet you, holding a sign with the tour name at the airport or hotel. Begin your journey by exploring the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. Continue to the Great Sphinx, dating back to Chephren’s era, and visit the Valley Temple of the pyramids, with numerous excellent photo opportunities.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Next, visit the Egyptian Museum, constructed in 1902 AD by French architect Marcel Deghonou in a Greco-Roman style. The museum features two floors showcasing over 100,000 masterpieces from ancient Egyptian temples and tombs, including the exquisite golden collection of King Tutankhamun, discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922 AD in the Valley of the Kings.
Khan Al-Khalili - Proceed to Khan El-Khalili bazaar to immerse yourself in the vibrant market life and engage in bargaining like the locals. This market, the largest and oldest in the Middle East, was established during the Mamluk era in the 14th century AD under King Barquq.
Alexandria Tour.
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - The tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at 7:00 am to escort you to Alexandria, the Greek city founded by Alexander the Great in 332 BC. After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, your first stop will be the Catacombs, discovered in 1900 AD when a donkey’s leg fell into the tomb’s shaft. This site is the largest Greek and Roman cemetery in Egypt, featuring three underground levels blending Ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman art.
Pompey’s Pillar - Next, visit the archaeological site of Pompey’s Pillar to view the remnants of the Serapeum temple dedicated to the Greek goddess Serapis, associated with healing. The pillar, mistakenly named by Crusaders, was thought to have displayed Pompey’s head after his death by King Ptolemy XIII’s guards during his conflict with Julius Caesar.
Qaitbay - Continue to Qaitbay Castle, constructed by Mamluk Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay in 1456 AD as a defensive fortress against sea invasions, such as those by the Ottomans. The castle later fell into French and British hands and was built on the original lighthouse site. Enjoy lunch at a pleasant restaurant.
Bibliotheca Alexandria - Visit the Alexandria Library, located on the original site of the ancient library built by King Ptolemy I and completed by King Ptolemy II in the second century. The current library, established in 2003 AD, houses collections from the original library, which was destroyed during King Ptolemy XIII’s conflict with Roman leader Julius Caesar. Afterward, return to your hotel in Cairo.
