Pyramids of Giza - Your Egypt Royal Tours guide will be waiting for you, holding a sign of Egypt Royal Tours at the airport or hotel. Begin your tour by visiting the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. Then, proceed to the Great Sphinx, dating back to the time of Chephren, and visit the Valley Temple of the pyramids with many excellent photo opportunities.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Next, head to the Egyptian Museum, built in 1902 by French architect Marcel Deghonou in Greek-Roman style. The museum has two floors displaying over 100,000 masterpieces from ancient Egyptian temples and tombs. You’ll also see the magnificent golden collection of King Tutankhamun, discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922 in the Valley of the Kings.
Khan Al-Khalili - Finally, visit the Khan El-Khalili bazaar to explore the market and experience local life. This market, the largest and oldest in the Middle East, was built during the Mamluk era around the 14th century AD, during the reign of King Barquq.
Alexandria Tour.
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Your tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 7:00 am to take you to Alexandria, the Greek city founded by Alexander the Great in 332 BC. After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, you’ll visit the Catacombs, discovered by chance in 1900 when a donkey fell into a tomb shaft. This site, the largest Greek and Roman cemetery in Egypt, features three underground levels blending ancient Egyptian and Greek-Roman styles.
Pompey’s Pillar - Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, the remains of the Serapeum temple dedicated to the Greek goddess Serapis, a deity of healing. The pillar was mistakenly named by Crusaders who believed Pompey’s head was displayed there after his death by the guards of King Ptolemy XIII during his conflict with Julius Caesar.
Kayetbai - Then, head to Qaitbay Castle, built by Mamluk Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay in 1456 AD as a fortress to defend Egypt from sea invasions, such as those by the Ottomans. The castle later fell into the hands of the French and British and was constructed on the original site of the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Enjoy lunch at a nice restaurant.
Bibliotheca Alexandria - Finally, visit the Alexandria Library, built in 2003 on the site of the ancient library established by King Ptolemy I and completed by King Ptolemy II in the 2nd century. The original library was burned during the reign of King Ptolemy XIII amid his struggle with Roman leader Julius Caesar. Afterward, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
