At Saqqara, you’ll find Zhoser’s step pyramid, which rises in six steps and served as the prototype for ancient Egypt’s enduring architectural legacy. This evening, travel by overnight sleeper train to Luxor.

Luxor

Luxor - Arrive in Luxor this morning and check into your hotel. Known as one of the world’s greatest open-air museums, the 4000-year-old site of ancient Thebes, now Luxor, will be your base for two exciting days of exploration. Enjoy some relaxation. Tonight, there is an optional visit to the Temple of Luxor, which is beautifully illuminated by a thousand colored lights at night. Book and pay locally. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure, enjoying the hotel facilities.

Valley of the Kings

Valley of the Kings - Luxor – Cairo. Start your day with an optional hot air balloon ride over ancient Luxor before crossing to the West Bank of the Nile. The first monuments you’ll see are the massive Colossi of Memnon, the remnants of the temple of Amenophis III. Today, visit the Valley of the Kings and the impressive colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut. After returning to your hotel, enjoy some free time before visiting Karnak. More than just a temple, Karnak is a magnificent complex of sanctuaries, pylons, and obelisks, built on a grand scale. During the height of Theban power, Karnak was the most significant place of worship. Tonight, return to Cairo by overnight sleeper train.

Egyptian Museum

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Arrive in Cairo and check into your hotel. Later, enjoy a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum. See the famous solid gold death mask of King Tutankhamun or choose to visit the Royal Mummy room. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free for personal activities.
