Join a small-group tour led by a local guide and dive into the captivating world of Jamie and Claire from Outlander. This tour, inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s stories, departs from Glasgow and visits several iconic Outlander filming locations. Explore Midhope Castle, the real-life Lallybroch; Doune Castle, the historic seat of Clan MacKenzie; and the breathtaking Blackness Castle, known as Fort William. With fascinating tales and historical insights at each stop, this tour offers a comprehensive Outlander experience in just one day.
- Children under 5 years old, including infants who do not require a seat, are not permitted to travel. We are unable to accommodate any child under the age of 5.
- It is recommended to book transport to the departure point in advance. Please also allow extra time to get to the departure point for check-in. We advise you arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour departure to allow time to check-in for the tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold the bus or refund for any late arrivals.
- There are days when a castle may be closed for filming or other reasons. The tour will then include Linlithgow Palace in its place as an exterior visit.
- Return times are approximate and subject to road conditions and weather. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time for any onward travel plans, allowing at least 3 hours after the scheduled return time for connections or activities.
- If downloading an audio guide, remember to bring your headset.
- The tour may operate with our sister company, HAGGiS Adventures.

Terrific tour and driver/guide - The tour was delightful and as thorough as possible. Nicky, our guide/driver was knowledgeable and thorough. She definitely cared about us having the best experience. I use a walker and she took care that I got to participate in every possible experience.

A very full, satisfying day of Outlander sites with Nicky - This was a fantastic day! Two of the planned sites were not available for viewing due to filming, but the replacements were every bit as interesting, even more. The visit to Linlithgow Palace (a replacement in the lineup) was fascinating, and although devoid of furniture (and a ceiling), the information provided in each room was excellent and gave a vivid example of what life would have been like, I especially enjoyed visiting the interior of Culross Palace with its wealth of furnishings, textiles and needlework from the period and the detail of which Outlander scenes were shot there and in the village (a lot!) and of course, we all oohed and shed when Lallybroch came into view!! No number of times seeing it on a screen could match the richness of being there, and the clever “scan me” spots with videos and other info added immensely to the experience.
Our guide, Nicky, was funny, warm and very caring throughout the day. She was of great assistance to me with some challenging stairs, and always was interested in our reactions to what we had just seen or heard. She knew a great deal about Outlander filming, Scottish history, geography, etc. and filled the driving time in between steps with information, personal stories or beautiful Scottish music. We never felt rushed, and were very pleased with the assortment of sites and scenery that we had enjoyed. Highly recommended. Thank you, Nicky, for a wonderful day!

Nice trip, unforgettable experience. - It was an amazing tour in Scotland with Nicky who was beri competent and kind during all the trip. She talked about the wonderful scotish history and the life of brave historical persons.

Great for Outlander and history fans - Nicky was our tour guide and was amazing! She is a great story teller, so even if there were little history lessons on the drive it was so captivating! It was nice to sign up for a bus tour that took us to location that would have been harder to get to without a car. The bus was comfortable and all the locations we went to were so peaceful to explore. And it was perfect weather! I will definitely sign up for another tour when I visit again!

So fun! - My friend and I went on the Outlander tour with Nicky. She was soo good!! She kept us engaged and laughing the whole time. My friend is a bigger Outlander fan than I am, as I just started watching it, but Nicky talked lots about Scottish history in addition to giving facts about the show, so it was absolutely perfect. This was our last tour of our trip and we couldn’t have had a better finale!

It’s not just for the Outlander Fans (tho that’s nice too) - Nicky made this tour a 10 out of 10. Don’t think twice about booking this tour. Honestly, I’m only halfway through the first Outlander book and have not watched any of the show. I couldn’t put together places we visited with scenes, but none of that mattered. The castles were wonderful to explore. Duone was my favorite because I am a Monty Python & GoT fan. The stops are incredibly picturesque. Nicky told parcels of complex history in meaningful ways. Her driving was safe; the van was clean and comfortable; and the number of passengers less than 15. The stops were not too short or too long. Her sense of humor, kindness and her energy made me want to finish the books, binge watch the show, and come back again to do this tour with her again. Overall, one of the top three tours I’ve ever been on in the world.

My favorite place to vacation! - During our stay in Scotland we scheduled many tours and this experience was by far the very best! Nicky was our tour guide/driver and she was amazing! Her knowledge was incredible and she was personable and witty. Thank you Nicky!

Nicky was an amazing fearless leader! - Nicky was witty, knowledgeable, laid back, and incredibly helpful throughout the day. She took great care of our whole group and kept us safe on the roads. Would highly recommend this tour to any outlander fan, and with all the rich local history, reassure any “hostages” they bring along that they will get just as much enjoyment from the tour as any Jamie/Claire fans!
