Winery Garnet is located in the historic part of the village of Godinje, accessible by car, bike, or on foot from the nearby town of Virpazar, which is 5 km away. The capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, is 35 km away, Bar is 30 km, Petrovac is 25 km, Budva is 50 km, and Kotor and Tivat are 70 km away. - Godinje - Winery Garnet is located in Godinje, the first Montenegrin heritage settlement. Here, visitors can find the remains of the 14th-century summer house of the Royal family Balsic. It is a unique location with mostly deserted stone houses, offering a rich cultural and historical heritage.

A family with a history in viticulture and wine production offers a unique encounter with their homemade wines, spirits, and nibbles on the patio of their historic winery, which has been in their possession for 14 generations. This presents a chance to savour a glass of wine at the birthplace of Montenegrin wine and enjoy fascinating tales about the region’s extensive history and abundant tradition. The host winery is located in the Historic Site of the Godinje village, within the Skadar Lake National Park, just 5 km away from Virpazar. The tasting journey lasts 1.5 hours.

Garnet winery
Winery Garnet is 5 km distant from Virpazar and you can reach it by car (10 minutes), by bike (25-30 minutes) or hiking (1 hour). It is situated in the historical part of the Godinje village which is 500 meteres uphill from the main road. If you need more information use the map or contact us.

Fun wine tasting - It was a very nice experience. The wines were delicious and the snacks too.

- Amazing, rustic and authentic winery. We really enjoyed our time here and the host was so friendly and knowledgeable - he had a real passion for wine and explained everything so clearly. The food and wines were all brilliant. I’d really recommend visiting Garnet for wine tasting - it was one of our favourite moment of our time travelling around Montenegro. Thank you very much

Highly Recommend This Beautiful Wine Tour - We had an amazing wine tour in Montenegro. Our hosts were so welcoming and knowledgeable about their wines. We loved the great conversations, delicious local snacks, and every wine we tasted was excellent. It was such a nice way to experience the local culture and feel the true heart of Montenegro. Highly recommend!

Relaxed and informative evening - The journey to the winery is interesting up winding roads but when you get there the welcome from Maya was warm and the evening relaxed. There was a really good offer of snacks to complement the wines and liqueurs we got to try which were excellent,
I’d fully recommend this activity.

Great wine tasting experience - Lovely wine tasting at a small vineyard. The couple were very knowledgable about how the different wines were made, we found it very interesting. The food was delicious, lots of cheese, ham, dips, chocolate desserts. They were very generous with the wine, 4 wine and 4 fruit liqueurs each person! Fantastic views. All at a very relaxed pace so we could enjoy the wine while eating for a few hours.

Wine so good we forgot about the rain! - We visited Winery Garnet in the middle of a terrible storm. Although this meant we didn't quite get the idyllic setting we were picturing, it did not dampen our experience! Mishko (sorry if I spelt it incorrectly) was a very welcoming and accommodating host - he gave us lots of information about the family wines and let us enjoy at our own pace. We spent a few hours tasting the various wines and spirits, and enjoying the delicious food we were given to share. The amount of food and liquor exceeded our expectations, and we truly had a fantastic afternoon, despite rain gushing everywhere and hammering on the terrace roof! I must mention Maja who I liaised with in detail prior to the tasting - she was extremely friendly and proactive in making arrangements for us, to ensure we could still enjoy our experience despite the storm. A big thank you!

An amazing and informative afternoon high in the mountains of Montenegro - A truly unique experience expertly hosted by the very knowledgeable and passionate owner Misko.
We spent a very happy couple of hours sampling delicious wines and liquors accompanied by various cheeses and other homemade snacks.
We would thoroughly recommend this great value experience to anyone visiting Montenegro.

Garnet Winery - wine tasting - Just came back from a wine tasting at Garnet. What a wonderful experience! Misko was very kind and humble about his products, which was some of the best I have ever tried. From my previous wine tasting experience in southern Europe, this is definitely one of the top. I like how all products shows elegance and thoughts behind the production. Everything from the location, to the host to the presentation is really low key. The tasting is in some unpolished environments, which makes it more romantic and also easy to have a nice chat with others. The location is hidden, but google maps will show you the way. Very high recommendations from Copenhagen.

Montenegrin pearl - Fantastic food and wine experience! Excellent wine and local food, all crowned by the care and great hospitality of the owners. The setting, in a country lost in the hills, is fascinating. Super recommended!
