Arrival in Goma and Transfer to Kibumba Tented Camp

Goma - It is recommended to arrive early in the morning, around 9:00 am. Assistance is provided for crossing the border and obtaining gorilla and volcano permits. Then, transfer to Kibumba for Gorilla and Nyiragongo Trekking. This offers a transformative experience with gorillas and a view of the world’s largest active lava lake. In Virunga, a 3-night, 4-day itinerary is offered; the first two days are dedicated to Gorilla trekking in Kibumba, followed by a trek on Nyiragongo Volcano on the third day.
1:00 pm: Departure for Kibumba Tented Camp for the first overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking

Virunga National Park - Mount Nyiragongo & Mountain Gorilla Treks - Morning: After breakfast and a briefing, with the guidance of a ranger, enjoy a 1 to 2.5-hour trek to see the gorillas in the park.
Late Afternoon: Lunch is provided, followed by a nature walk and bird watching.

Nyiragongo Hiking

Mount Nyiragongo - Morning: After breakfast, depart Kibumba for Kibati Ranger Post at 8:15 am, the starting point for the Nyiragongo trek. Following a brief orientation, embark on a 4 to 6-hour hike (depending on the pace of the slowest group member). Overnight stay is at the summit, offering breathtaking views and an impressive lava lake.

Goma City Tour

Goma - Many visitors pass through Goma quickly, often visiting for affordable gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park or to trek the Nyiragongo Volcano, before returning to Rwanda. This tour aims to safely and securely help travelers discover Congo, taking them to all corners of Goma, from south to north (Port de Goma, Turunga) and east to west (Grande Barriere, NDOSHO quarter). Places to visit include: Goma Port, Local Museum, the Tchukudu monument, the airport street, Virunga Market, Turunga, a local chocolate factory, KITUKU market, and a local restaurant.
