• Gua Tempurung - Located in Gopeng, Kampar District, Perak, Malaysia, within the Kinta Valley Geopark, Tempurung Cave (Gua Tempurung) is a favorite among spelunkers. Stretching over 3 km, it ranks as one of the longest caves in Peninsular Malaysia. A section of the cave is developed with electric lighting and walkways for visitors. This impressive river cave features a 1.6 km river passage through the hill, three large chambers, and stunning stalactites and stalagmites.

The drive from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh takes approximately 2 hours each way.

• Kellie’s Castle - Situated in Batu Gajah, Kinta District, Perak, Malaysia, Kellie’s Castle (also known as Kellie’s Folly) is an unfinished mansion built by Scottish planter William Kellie-Smith. It was intended either as a gift for his wife or a home for his son. The castle is located beside the Raya River (Sungai Raya), a tributary of the Kinta River.
• Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple and Zen Gardens - The breathtaking beauty of Kek Lok Tong cave temple makes it a notable tourist attraction in the quieter part of Ipoh. Kek Lok Tong (or Kek Look Tong) is one of the larger temples, covering approximately 12 acres.
• Gaharu Tea Valley - Established around 20 years ago, Gaharu Tea Valley spans 300 acres of elevated terrain. At its peak, it housed about 200,000 Gaharu trees. At that time, 90% of the produce was exported to global markets, including China, Taiwan, the Middle East, Japan, and Korea. According to local tales, the species grown here were adapted from Japan and introduced to Malaysia by Gaharu Technologies. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Agarwood trees and breathe in the fresh air. The valley is closed every Tuesday and requires an entrance fee.
• Concubine Lane - As its name implies, this lane was gifted by a famous tycoon to one of his concubines over a century ago. Once known for its vices, it now boasts popular Ipoh eateries, coffee shops, trendy cafes, and dessert houses. Street artists have revitalized the area with murals that reflect its history, making it a great spot for photos.
• Ipoh Railway Station - The Ipoh railway station is a Malaysian train station located on the southwestern side of Ipoh, Perak’s capital city.
• Ipoh Town Hall and Old Post Office - Designed by renowned British architect Arthur Benison Hubback, Ipoh Town Hall is one of three colonial-era buildings in Ipoh. The other two, Ipoh High Court and Ipoh Railway Station, are nearby. Ipoh Railway Station is across the road, and Ipoh High Court is next door.
• Masjid Sultan Idris Shah Ke II Ipoh - The Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque serves as the state mosque of Perak, Malaysia. It is located in Ipoh, the capital city of Perak, near the Birch Memorial.
• Birch Memorial Clock Tower - The Birch Memorial Clock Tower, located in Ipoh, Kinta District, Perak, Malaysia, was built to honor James W. W. Birch, the first British Resident of Perak. It was unveiled in 1909 at a cost of $25,000.
• Ipoh Kallumalai Murugan Temple - This temple is one of the most picturesque in Ipoh. Outside prayer times, it offers a peaceful setting for reflection and enjoying the views. While the temple itself may not stand out, its location against the cliffs is a highlight. The Guan Yin Dan Ba Xian Tong Buddhist cave temple is nearby. While these temples may not be considered must-see attractions in Ipoh, photography enthusiasts will appreciate the scenery.
