– JOURNEY TO SOTI KHOLA (elev. 750 m/2461 ft.)

Manaslu - Begin the adventure with a private vehicle ride from Kathmandu, crossing the Kathmandu Valley pass and descending into the Trisuli River valley. Turn off the main highway towards Dhading, passing farms and dense jungles. At Arughat Bazar, cross the Budhi Gandaki River and proceed north to the trailhead at Soti Khola for an overnight stay. Travel time is approximately eight hours.

TREK TO MACCHAKHOLAGAON (elev. 890 m/2,920 ft.)

Manaslu - Follow the Budhi Gandaki through coffee plantations and farms. The trail is well-maintained. Trekking time is 6 – 7 hours.

TREK TO JAGAT (elev. 1350 m/4,429 ft.)

Manaslu - A day of ascent. Pass by the hot springs at Tatopani and admire the carved Mani Walls. Jagat is a charming stone village with flagstone streets. Trekking time is 6 – 7 hours.

TREK TO DENG (elev. 1960 m/6,430 ft.)

Manaslu - Cross the river, marvel at high cliffs, deep canyons, and stunning waterfalls. The trail eventually turns westward as you begin traveling on the north side of Mt. Manaslu. Overnight in Deng with trekking time 6 – 7 hours.

TREK TO GHAP (elev. 2,380 m/7,808 ft.)

Manaslu - Encounter the Tibetan people and their unique culture. The route includes farms and forests. Spend the night at Ghap village. Trekking time is 5 – 6 hours.

DAY 6 – TREK TO NAMRUNG (elev. 2,700 m/8,858 ft.)

Manaslu - Enter the Budhi Gandaki River valley, traversing long boulders and dense forests of rhododendron fir trees. Spend the night with the Tibetans at Namrung. Trekking time is 4 – 5 hours.

TREK TO SAMA GOMPA (elev. 3,360 m/11,024 ft.)

Manaslu - Sama Gompa is the heart of the Nupri Region, where traditional Tibetan culture is vividly observed.

Acclimatization Day

Mount Manaslu - Spend additional nights in this village to adjust to the high altitude. Explore the monastery and enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Manaslu.

TREK TO SAMDO (elev. 3,780 m/12,402 ft.)

Mount Manaslu - Pass Mani Walls and enjoy more breathtaking views. Vegetation is sparse due to the high elevation. Reach Samdo in 3 – 4 hours.

TO LARKYA LA REST HOUSE (elev. 4,200 m/13,780 ft.)

Mount Manaslu - Trek for 4 – 5 hours to reach the base of the trail to the pass, now above the tree line.

LARKYA LA PASS, TREK TO BIMTANG (elev. 2,200 m/7,218 ft.)

Manaslu - Ascend to the top of Larkya La Pass (elev. 5,135 m/16,847 ft.) for breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. Descend significantly to reach the village of Bimtang in the Annapurna region for an overnight stay. Trekking time is 7 – 9 hours.

TREK TO DHARAPANI (elev. 1850 m/6,068 ft.)

Drive back to Kathmandu

Mt. Manaslu is situated in the northern region of Gorkha District, Nepal. Standing at an impressive height of 8,163 meters (26,781 ft.), it ranks as the 8th tallest mountain globally. The local inhabitants regard it as a spiritual place, and it is revered by those residing in its vicinity. Notably, Tibetan communities have inhabited the northern side of Mt. Manaslu for centuries.

These Tibetan communities practice a unique form of Tibetan Buddhism that is rare in Tibetan China. The journey to Mt. Manaslu follows the untamed Budhi Gandaki River upstream, with the stunning snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas visible throughout the trip.

Travelers will pass through diverse ecological zones, including hot springs, icy glacial streams, and encounter various ethnic groups native to this area. Eagles soar above as travelers look down into the deep canyons below.
