Phenomenal! - We spent the day with Jon, and it was hands down, absolutely one of our favorite days! First, we are not seasoned hikers. If anything, nature and hiking feels intimidating. I can confidently say that I’m so much more knowledgeable and confident now after our experience with Jon! Jon picked us up from our hotel, gave us water, camelpaks, snack bags, Gatorade, walking sticks (basically all the essentials, we didn’t need to bring anything!), and dropped us off at the hike point while we were able to go get settled, use the restrooms, explore while he went and parked the car. He met back up with us and got us settled into our backpacks, gave us a great rundown of where we were headed and taught us how to use our walking sticks going downhill. Throughout the whole hike, Jon knew exactly where and how to take pictures. I don’t think we could’ve asked for better! Jon made us an amazing and fresh meal in a secluded, quiet part of our hike. We even saw mules!! It was perfect, gave us the fuel to start our trek out of the canyon. The uphill trek felt so daunting because we knew what we hiked down, but Jon taught us the walking stick technique where my husband, and I weren’t winded at all! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our first time in the Grand Canyon. We’re leaving feeling cared for, educated, and in awe of all we were able to see and experience. Thank you, Jon! You are fantastic!

Incredible hike and most amazing backward parallel parking I've ever seen! - Jon was our guide and we spoke a few times before the trip. He picked us (me, wife, and twin 10 yr old boys) up at the hotel on time and drove us to the canyon. When we got there, he executed an amazing backward parallel parking maneuver that got us right where we needed to be to see down into the canyon where we were going to hiking. We then proceeded to the drop off point for the hike and he took us down with his provided hiking poles. The poles make a real difference and cut down on sliding in the gravelly path and benefitted when climbing out. In our pre-hike discussions, Jon made it clear that although it was Thanksgiving Day and pretty brisk at the rim, it would warm significantly as we descended. Boy was he right and his recommendation to wear shorts was spot on. Each of us as shorts under our hiking clothes or hiking pants convertible to shorts and it made a huge difference on the comfort level. We could see others who had descended in overly warm clothing really struggling on the ascension and sweating profusely. Jon even identified one poorly prepared hiker and insisted he take some water and cool down before his body shut down. Other folks, he was less insistent but offered his extra water to several other less prepared hikers. When we got to the bottom (not the very base but as far as we were hiking - 5 layers deeps into the canyon), Jon made us some delicious chicken wraps (adults) and peanut butter sandwiches (the boys) so we enjoyed our Thanksgiving Day dinner 1500 ft deep in the canyon creating a once in a life time memory for my family and me. On the ascent, Jon led us out. This enabled him to set the pace. The boys, of course, still had tons of energy and were willing to nearly run to the top so with Jon leading, he kept the pace much slower and prevented us from burning ourselves out trying to go too swiftly. I'm not saying the trip out was easy, it is a climb, but with Jon's knowledge and experience, we were able to make it out in a timely manner that while still much faster than the descent, didn't wear us out and leave everybody sore the next day. Jon is a very helpful man and very knowledgeable guide, providing lots of information both during the drive to the canyon and during the hike. I'm very glad Jon was there to guide us through the hike and make for us a very memorable day! In the annals of my family, this one the best trips we've had, and I would recommend it to anyone. And lastly, although certainly not a requirement to being a proficient guide, Jon took some incredible pictures for us during the hike; he's a master of panoramic view as you can see from the picture I'm uploading.

Half Day Hike with Kevin - We had such a great time on this hike! Kevin was amazing and so much fun. This was even better than we anticipated. The snacks were enough for an army and lunch was delicious! I would recommend this company to everyone. 5 stars are not enough!!!!! We are two 72 year old ladies and the hike was very doable. We got lucky and saw 9 long horn sheep on the hike. Do not hesitate to book your hike.

Wow - the sunset hike was incredible! - Jon was a great communicator prior to the trip - we had several phone calls to understand the itinerary, the timing and what to expect. I had really high expectations after those calls, and the trip didn’t disappoint. Our guide, Kevin, was knowledgeable, energetic and really fun. The canyon was beautiful, the meal was great, the still/quiet coming up in the dark was amazing. Overall, we had a great experience and HIGHLY recommend this trek. Thank you Kevin and Jon!
