Better than I expected! - The experience turned out to be much better than I expected! I booked the trip for my wife since she is a huge fan but it turned out to be very enjoyable for me and my 8 year old daughter. Evah was a funny and knowledgeable guide and she kept the energy going the whole time and John the driver kept us on schedule and safe the whole day.

Excellent tour for Downton lovers. Brought the series alive. Our driver, John and guide Eva were excellent, attentive. - Wonderful to have the show come alive seeing the real locations. Well displayed and the guides very helpful and informative at the castle.

It was a fantastic... - It was a fantastic experience. Jed the guide and David the driver were both amazing. The bus was very comfortable and the itinerary is well organized. One suggestion would be to give a bit more time at Bampton and less time at the castle. Felt a bit rushed if we’d want to get lunch at Bampton as well.

Well organised tour. We... - Well organised tour. We had sufficient time in Bampton and Downton Abbey. Jet was lovely and entertaining. I’ve been to Downton before but not on tour so it was great to get a bit more information about the filming and location spots. Great tour.

An awful lot of coach... - An awful lot of coach travel. Almost 6 hours out of 9 on the coach. Having said that, I enjoyed the 2 visits

Downton Abbey fans will love this! - Overall, it was a good experience. Excellent choice to start the visit at Bampton village and then move to Highclere castle. The castle and grounds are absolutely stunning, the visit is really worth it. I would suggest to reviewing the timings and schedule, as we feel 2 hours at Highclere are not enough to see the state rooms, the Egyptian exhibition, and the gardens. The interior of the castle is breathtaking, the level of artefacts, forniture, paintings, the details: everything deserve time to be discovered. The personnel at the estate are delightful, so professional and very knowledgeable.
Our tour guide was very friendly and charming. They were clearly well prepared. However, could have been more concise on certain topics, also given the fact the audience was mainly international, and not necessarily familiar with British TV/actors. We appreciate they draw parallels between Downton characters/storyline and the real Carnarvon dinasty and history of Highclere.
It’s a great tour and I highly recommend!

Efficient Transportation - The only good part of this tour was the transportation. Since Brampton Village is so far from Downtown Abbey, it would have been difficult to visit the two locations without the tour bus. The tour of Highclere was self-guided, so nothing special there. The tour guide almost ruined the experience. First, she talked way too much and ended up saying a lot of garbage. She spoke derisively about folks who were running late, her management office, and was just unprofessional. She was nice, but didn’t know when to stop. To make matters worse, she wasn’t very knowledgeable as she couldn’t answer questions during the Brampton Village guided tour.
