Would do it again every visit to London - I went with a group of middle schoolers and even though the experience was not as scarier as other groups. It was very frightening (in a good sense), best experience after decades of bad horror movies.

Immersive Killer Tour - Declan is a brilliant guide, immersing us into the history of the killings and the psychology of the many killers of Londons history. He is knowledgeable and keeps you interested. The sights themselves are mixed with alleyways, courts and streets. This is a tour I would recommend to anyone that is looking for something that looks into the psychology of the killers, and more than the classic Jack The Ripper (yes, Jack is still part of this). Thank you Declan for a brilliant night out.

Interesting and informative tour - Declan is very well informed and shares a LOT about various serial killers, spanning many decades (and centuries!!). I particularly enjoyed the spots where he spun a story for us to be able to truly picture what had happened. For murders committed 100s of years ago, they were brought to life. I also respected the fact that he took the time to say that he is NOT glorifying serial killers, and I really appreciate that he took the time to name the victims (whenever possible). I enjoyed the tour and recommend it if you have an interest in the topic! I do suggest solid walking shoes.

What a great experience - Declan provides a great history tour of London well known serial killers. What makes the tour is Declan's story telling and engagement with the group that makes this tour more interactive than most. We loved the walk, the mystery, the history and Declan's recommendations on books and films. Thanks for having us. Michael and Kaleigh from Clacton-on-sea.

Not to Be Missed! - I was so excited to find this tour! I was on one of Declan's tours 20 years ago, and it was so memorable that I went looking for something similar on my recent trip. I was incredibly overjoyed to find out that he was still giving tours! Declan is hands down the best tour guide I've ever had. Not only is he highly knowledgeable and engaging, but he is also an expert at managing the tour and keeping the group safe, organized and moving on-pace, ensuring that everyone has an excellent experience. Loved the new tour, and wish we were in the city longer to check out the Shakespeare tour as well! Thank you for another amazing experience! (We did check out the recommended pub at the end of the tour and it was fantastic! Thank you for all of the recommendations!)

Attend the Tale of Declan McHugh - My daughters say the tour was fun and engaging. Very knowledgeable. Knew a lot about movies--a buff. Provided good photos in a well-loved binder. Treats the tour like a performance, a lot of energy throughout. Glad to see the alleys and hear the backstories. A tight group with expectations to participate in a fun way. Safety and awareness throughout are appreciated. Oh, and buy/read his book!

Interesting but not a “Must Do” - We went on this tour recently based on the rave reviews and arrived with eager anticipation. To be honest - we found it to be just so-so. Did we learn a few new things? Yes. Did the tour guide have an entertaining delivery style? Yes. Did he get a bit carried away at times and as a result run quite long on the tour: Yes. And, at the same time, the guide seemed oddly fixated on movies - I think he talked about movies the same amount as London’s historical serial killers. On balance, it’s probably still worth doing, but just calibrate your expectations a bit.
