• West Kennet Long Barrow - West Kennet Long Barrow is an impressive Neolithic chambered tomb located in Wiltshire, constructed around 3650 BC, making it older than both Stonehenge and the pyramids. This elongated mound extends approximately 100 meters and houses five stone burial chambers at its eastern end, where the remains of at least 46 individuals have been found. The barrow is built from earth and stone, with large standing stones marking its entrance. Unlike the more famous Stonehenge, Avebury features a massive outer circle, enclosing two smaller inner circles, and spans nearly 1,200 feet in diameter. The site is unique because the village of Avebury is built within the circle, allowing visitors to walk freely among the stones. Its original purpose remains a mystery, though it is believed to have been used for ceremonies or rituals. • Tour is non refundable if you miss the departure time through no fault of ours. We are under no obligation to wait for late passengers, however we will make every effort to make sure you join the tour. Please ensure that you are at the stated departure point for your tour at least 15 minutes before the departure time. We cannot re-book or refund for you missing tours as a result of delays on other transport such as the underground, buses, traffic or trains.
