• Napanee - The group will be picked up by 9:15 am at the designated meeting point. Arrival at Springside Park in Napanee is expected by 10 am at the latest. A guided 1 km hike along the Napanee River will be provided, where over 30 artistically painted pallets by local artists can be admired. These pallets are strategically placed throughout the town, with many visible along the path to The Springside Parks Falls. Wildlife and trains can be observed passing over the trestle bridge above.

The Napanee River is one of only two places globally that experiences “seiche,” with tidal changes ranging from 6-16 inches due to southwest winds along Lake Ontario.

The tour will continue north to explore the charming downtown Napanee. Participants can spend 30 minutes browsing various jewelry, home décor, and other shops along the route until reaching the tour van.

• Lennox and Addington County Museum & Archives - Visiting the museum also means stepping into the former County Gaol/Jail. Imagine the stories the walls could tell! Visitors can enter a jail cell for photos. The limestone walls preserve over 125 years of history, documented in old gaol reports. Themed exhibits narrate the historical settlements and development of Lennox and Addington County.
• Napanee - Hickory Lane Alpaca Farm

  Get up close and personal with adorable alpacas and other farm animals. Engage with the owners to learn why they welcomed these animals and their reasons for coming to Canada. Visit their store for homemade soaps and wool products.
• Bon Echo Provincial Park - Bon Echo Provincial Park is a picturesque, 1-hour drive north of Napanee. Upon arrival, a picnic lunch will be enjoyed at the beach. Following lunch, a canoe scavenger hunt will be conducted to discover historical pictograph paintings on the rocks. A hike along the wooded path will lead to the visitor’s centre/park museum, offering insights into the park and its indigenous history. The group can opt for a longer hike or a shorter one, with the option to swim at the sandy beach and enjoy Mazinaw Lake, with its stunning view of the massive rock formations.

Afterward, it will be time to return to the meeting spot.

The itinerary listed is not set in stone. We can modify the stops, on the hour drive north to Bon Echo Provincial Park. to add a lavender farm, (when in season), shopping in Northbrook, hiking on trails along the way, etc.
