Upon reaching Meteora, visitors are greeted by the awe-inspiring monasteries, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Greece’s most stunning destinations. Here, towering rock formations rise majestically from the valley floor, topped with monasteries that appear to float in the sky.
Visitors explore 2 or 3 of the 6 active monasteries. Each monastery boasts its own unique history, adorned with exquisite frescoes, religious artifacts, and tranquil courtyards offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Between monastery visits, there are stops at various viewpoints, perfect for capturing the surreal beauty. The stunning blend of natural and man-made wonders creates a mystical, otherworldly atmosphere.
There is free time to enjoy a traditional Greek meal at a local tavern. Guests can savor regional specialties while admiring the magnificent backdrop of Meteora’s rock pillars.
