Quick visit to the volcano with a nice walk around Mandraki - Great trip, well organised. Information leading up to the trip was good, pick up from the hotel was on time. We'd read reviews from other companies saying, too long at the volcano and an overly long day, but it was spot on.
We had a good and everything was perfect.

"Lifetime Experience" - Unbelievable to actually experience walking in a volcanic crater, steam rising from all around the sides.
Before coming on this trip,we never imagined the sheer size of the crater!
Few tips,it can be precarious walking down into the crater,so tread carefully and allow yourself time, wouldn't recommend descent for people a bit unsteady on their feet.
Make sure you wear "sensible"footwear, not flip flops etc.but "trainers, sport shoe or good soled shoes as the ground beneath your feet can get pretty hot, what, with the sun beating down,as wearing a hat is also recommended to protect against sunstroke!
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip, although on the steep mountainous roads,my wife had her heart in her mouth as the coach navigated the snaking narrow road!

A must visit if visiting Greece - We booked through trip advisor as found the exact same offer was cheaper here than with TUI or any other rep at the hotel.
The coach picked us up at the hotel and took us to the boat, The trip took about an hour across to the island from Kos. We had a fabulous tour guide who showed some of the town then gave us free time to explore. We enjoyed a drink on the front by a little beach for the kids to play. Everyone was very friendly while walking around. We then met the tour guide again and went by coach to the volcano. She explained about the different towns along the way.
The volcano itself was extremely hot but the kids managed to walk down and explore. There is a strong smell of sulphate but that's to be expected. We saw some smoldering which the kids loved. Definitely an experience to do while in Greece.
Boat trip back and coach ready to take us back to our hotel. A fabulous day out and would recommend

Great to walk down into a volcano - The boat trip lasted about 1 hour each way. The island had a few towns, which we stopped at. The main town called Mandraki was great and well worth exploring. We went to the volcano and walked down into it. It was very hot but well worth the walk. A great day out. It's best to do the trip as a tour, that way you get taken around the island to all of the towns and the volcano.

A timeless experience - The views were amazing, we took so many photos. Nisyros is approached by boat from Kardemena , it's hot and there are little islands surfacing from the sea. The view back to Kos is postcard pretty too. We went on a coach up to the volcano, with a guide telling us all about the island, walked around the volcano and that was like I imagine the surface of the moon. There was a coffee shop too. The terraces dug into the hills tell how difficult life would be if you had to grow crops to survive. Then back down the island to the portside town, which was both beautiful architecturally and bustling with gift shops and cafes. If you get the chance to go, I recommend it.

Nisyros definitely worth a visit - Booked an excursion to Nisyros via Tui. It was well arranged with a bus trip from Kos town to the port of Kardamena. An hour by boat to Nisyros. Our guide was Willem, a guide from Tui who has been providing this excursion during the 7 seasons. Someone who can talk well and keeps everyone focused, but also leaves room for questions. The visit was really great, a visit to the town on the coast with the option of a well-organized lunch (not included), a visit to a mountain town that has only 30 inhabitants and is located above the crater of the dormant volcano with a beautiful view of this crater. After a short break here, the highlight was a visit to the crater of the dormant volcano. That was worth it, you can descend into the crater via a path. a true experience, you can smell the sulfur that still bubbles up from the holes. The different colors in the walls of the crater are beautiful. then back to the boat. Where you take the bus back to your pick-up point that morning after an hour's sailing. All in all a fun and active day. and Willem was great, with clear and concise explanations about this beautiful experience.

Excursion to Nisyros. - Went on an excursion with TUI here. Very nice little island, well worth a visit. Be the first in Mandraki, the island's small capital. Can recommend the ice cream in Piccolo Café. They have both volcanic and lava ice cream…… Then we went to Stefanoskrater, also well worth a visit.

Organized and timely. Unfortunately, the ride back was a low note for us - The tour is well organized and locations are beautiful and interesting. Martha is an experienced and friendly tour guide. The taverna she recommended for lunch was okay, a bit of an overpriced tourist trap in my opinion with a bit of rude service. We travelled in with one boat and came back in another that was terribly overcrowded. The bus in the morning was cool and not terribly overcrowded. In the afternoon the return bus was 100% full and the driver kept cutting the AC since people upfront were cold while the rest of us in the back were dying without any ventilation. It was very hot. We complained and Martha had it turned back on but unfortunately cut it off again for the last 15-20 minutes of our ride. We were very disappointed since that showed a total disregard for the passengers who were baking. The ones that were cold could have closed the vents or switched to the back.

Worst ferry ever - BE VERY CAREFULL*
Me,my mum and my 2 children booked a trip to nisaros. On arriving at kardaminar and walking to the port, we were met with a massive que. Everyone was being piled onto 1 ferry, it was over crowded before we even got on it. Spoke to the tour guide (marta)who told us not to worry it will be fine ! We boarded and there was no where to sit, it was rammed and then they started loaded bikes and cars onto it. Again spoke to Marta who again just brushed it off and lit a cigarette 🙄 The ferry was that over loaded it struggled to pull off. AND HERE IT COMES 🤬 HALF WAY THERE THE ENGINE CUT OUT AND THE FERRY FILLED WITH THICK BLACK SMOKE ! There were 4 tour guides on the ferry who went into mass panic, kids were crying and adults shouting and screaming . We were all told to go upto the higher deck , but that was impossible as there was no room as they had rammed so many people up there. All the way there the ferry crawled with smoke and fumes still bellowing out. I spoke to marta and said that its dangerous and over packed thats why this has happened, she just laughed and said there was nothing to worry about and lit another fag 🤬.Fast forward to coming home, same ferry but alot less people, but im sure it was only running with 1 engine as it was very slow. Got back on the coach and was expecting and explanation or even an apology of what had happened but nothing. Later I found out that the oil had over heated as the engines couldn't cope with the weight.
Safe to say I would never go back on that ferry again (ferry in comments) and as for the travel guide marta she has to be the worst ive ever had. Rude , doesn't care, all about me, my way or no one's way. It was an absolute joke 🤬🤬🤬🤬
