Spanning approximately 6 kilometers, its narrowest section hosts the Corinth Canal, constructed between 1880 and 1893. Historically strategic, a wall was erected here in ancient times (late 5th century BC) and remained until the Byzantine era (Hexamilion). Visitors can enjoy stunning views from above and capture beautiful photos during this brief stop before reaching the final destination.

Akrokorinthos - Akrokorinthos is a steep rock rising 575 meters high, historically serving as a lookout (Acropolis) during ancient raids from central Greece or the sea. Acrocorinth is a monolithic rock overlooking the ancient city of Corinth, Greece. According to George Forrest, “It is the most impressive of the acropolis of mainland Greece.” With its reliable water supply, Acrocorinth’s fortress was often the last line of defense in southern Greece, controlling the Isthmus of Corinth and preventing enemy entry by land into the Peloponnese peninsula.

- Archaeological Museum of Corinth - The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth, situated in the archaeological site of ancient Korinthos, was constructed in 1932 by the American School of Classical Studies, which conducted excavations in the area. The renovated building acquaints visitors with one of the most significant ancient Greek cities. It showcases Prehistoric collections, discoveries from the Asklepieion, and artifacts from the Geometric period to the Byzantine era. The Twin Kouroi from ancient Tenea, a remarkable example of archaic sculpture, recently joined the exhibition.
- Temple of Apollo - The Temple of Apollo is an ancient temple built with 40 monolithic Doric columns, of which only seven remain over the ruins of the ancient marketplace. The original temple, dating from the early 7th to early 6th centuries BC, was constructed of stone, bricks, and wooden beams, featuring a heavy and intricate four-pitched roof made of clay tiles. It was likely a simple structure without external columns, yet notable in other respects.
- Nafplio - The journey continues to the cosmopolitan town of Nafplio, one of Greece’s most picturesque locales. Stroll through its charming cobblestone streets, admire the elegant architecture, and soak in the romantic ambiance. This tour offers a perfect blend of historical exploration and leisurely enjoyment, making it an essential experience during your time in Greece.
- Palamidi Castle - Palamidi is a fortress located east of the Acronauplia in the town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece. Perched on a 216-meter high hill, the fortress was constructed by the Venetians during their second occupation of the area (1686–1715). The fortress was a large and ambitious project, completed in a relatively short period from 1711 to 1714. It is a typical baroque fortress based on the designs of Venetian engineer Antonio Giancix and built by French military engineer Pierre de la Salle. In 1715, it was captured by the Ottomans and remained under their control until 1822, when it was seized by the Greeks.
- Bourtzi - Bourtzi is a castle situated on the islet of Agios Theodoros in the middle of the port in Nafplio, approximately 400 meters from the pier. The name “Bourtzi” is derived from the Turkish-Arabic language, meaning “island-fortress,” and is a recognized symbol along with the Palamidi Castle for Nafplio. Its oldest name from the Venetians was “Castello dello soglio,” and for the port “Porto di cadena,” or port of the chain, because every night five brothers extended a chain from the rampart to Akronafplia to Bourtzi, closing the port for security. Later, the Turks surrounded it with the “porpela,” an underwater stone barrier to prevent large ships from approaching. To visit Bourtzi, small boats located in the port of Nafplion are available. The journey from the port takes only 10 minutes, allowing 20 minutes of exploration time. The ticket price is 4€.
