So much fun! - The variety of terrain, sights, and experiences was wonderful. Seeing the islands from the vantage point of Santorini volcano, swimming, eating lunch on the port, and spending the day out on the water was all lovely. Beware - the hot springs are not always hot!

We highly recommend this tour when visiting Santorini! - We highly recommend this tour when visiting Santorini as you visit Caldera, the volcano, swim in the thermal springs and end up at Thirassia. Our tour guide, Adamantia (Maddy) was extremely knowledgeable and her English was impeccable. I'm sure all their tour guides are excellent, but we highly recommend trying to get Adamantia (Maddy) as your tour guide.

Great day out on the Caldera! - We opted for pick up and drop off which was smooth on comfortable buses. The whole day went well. We enjoyed the volcano walk as fortunately hot but not overpowering, with a breeze at the top. Many went swimming at the thermal waters. Simple tavernas on the island stop and cruise back via oia and fira a highlight, despite the cheesy music.. the guide on the boat/volcano was very knowledgeable. Boat not too packed.

That was interesting exercise - The trip is great, we like the experience but we weren’t prepared well because we found out the program only when we left the port. Ask for the program in advance.

Good trip don’t do hot springs - The trip was lovely and we got to see a lot of the island, thirissa was beautiful too. The volcano doesn’t have a cable car like the booking said so the walk up was immense in 30 degree heat and the hot springs is not hot more like a warm mud bath

A unique Santorini experience - The excursion was exactly what was listed so I would not say we didn’t get what we signed up for. A few things to note, the ship could have had less people on it, it was so squished and crowded. The hot springs visit was very short and the visit to Thirasia was not really a visit to “the town”. You get there and have an hour and a half. That being said to get to town you have to take a 30 minute climb to get to A restaurant and no time to go to town. We decided to stay at the bottom and eat from the restaurants on the shore, which were quite lovely. The people that talked to who ventured to the top did not get to eat or go to the town. My husband and son did enjoy the volcano hike and found it very interesting. My daughter and I went about 1/4 of the way as we are not big hikers. Please note this is a strenuous activity if you are not active or afraid of heights. All in all it was neat experience but just wanted to share the things that were not explained to us.

Manage your expectations. - Nothing inherited wrong with this tour. It did exactly what it promised. Our issues were outside the actual itinerary. The boat was completely crammed. We kept watching them board more and more people and it became a joke amongst those near us that the were trying to get in the Guinness book of records! We got to the volcano and you had enough time to get to the top, spend 20mins at the top before having to come back down for the boat. The boat does not wait. People with knee, hip, back, respiratory problems, or those who were pregnant were advised not to leave the boat! Next stop was the hot springs. Several issues here: the springs are just a corner of the harbour and you have to swim about 40metres through open sea (and all the boats coming in and out of the harbour) to get to them. Here, people who were not strong swimmers were told not to go into the water, but to stay on the boat! Over half our boat decided not to go into the water to reach the springs. We also only had 30mins here, so once everyone that was getting off had queued up to exit the boat, those at the back of the line only had a few minutes in the water. Final stop- Thirassia. Here you were given three options: climb up 200metres of steps to reach the village at the top of the cliff, stay at the bottom and have food, or go for a swim. The climb was again not recommended for those with hip, knee etc... The swimming was all in the port area, so there were a lot of boats coming in and out- many of them hired by tourists, so not all expertly piloted. The restaurants at the port were apparently quite good. We walked to the restaurant at the top of the cliff, but once you'd had something to eat there, you didn't really have time to explore the area before heading back to the boat. The trip itself did everything the itinerary said it would. But it would have been useful for all the restrictions to be made explicit upfront- as someone could potentially book onto the cruise and not be able to take part in the majority of the activities.
