- Pigeon Valley - Pigeon Valley is situated between Göreme and Uçhisar. It derives its name from the thousands of dovecotes carved into the soft tuff since ancient times. While these dovecotes can be found throughout Cappadocia, they are especially abundant in this valley. Pigeon Valley is a delightful spot where some cave houses are painted white to attract the birds. The valley is also renowned for its stunning landscapes.
- Kaymakli Underground City - Kaymakli Underground City is constructed beneath the hill known as the Citadel of Kaymakli and was opened to visitors in 1964. The residents of Kaymakli (Enegup in Greek) village built their homes around nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. The locals still use the most accessible parts of the tunnels as cellars, storage areas, and stables, which they reach through their courtyards. The Kaymakli Underground City features low, narrow, and sloping passages. Although the underground city has 8 floors below ground, only 4 are open to the public today, with spaces organized around ventilation shafts.
- Ihlara Valley - Ihlara Valley is a breathtaking canyon approximately 100 meters deep and 10 km long, formed by volcanic activity on Mount Hasan and erosion by the Melendiz River hundreds of thousands of years ago. It is one of the best side trips from Cappadocia. Ihlara Valley is not only a natural wonder but also a historical site that hosted monastic life between the 4th and 13th centuries, with over four thousand dwellings and a hundred hidden cave churches adorned with frescoes. When you descend into the valley, there is a 4 km walking trail along the Melendiz Stream that divides the valley. The river is shallow, allowing easy crossing from one side to the other.
- Belisirma - After hiking in the valley, you can enjoy lunch in the village of Belisirma, located along the Melendiz Stream in this valley.
- Selime Monastery - Selime Monastery is an impressive rock-cut structure and the largest religious building in the Cappadocia region, featuring a cathedral-sized church carved directly into volcanic tuff. Inside, you can find original frescoes, although some have been weathered. The ancient region also shows signs of early civilizations, including the Hittites, Persians, Romans, Early Christians, Byzantines, Seljuk Turks, and Ottomans. The church is divided into three sections by two rock columns and includes kitchens, stables, and monk living areas decorated with frescoes that have worn over time.
