Fun day sightseeing with Ali G - The Green Tour of Cappadocia was the better of the 2 tours we took, not only because of the incredible sights we visited, the Kaymakli Underground City and the Selime Monastery, but by our fun and informative guide Ali.
The week we visited in late March it snowed heavily in the region so everything was covered in white and very cold but it gave us an unusual experience visiting these places.
At each stop Ali gave us enough time for ourselves to take photos and see the sights on our own after giving us a brief background info of which place. That is except for the underground city where he guided us from place to place through the labyrinth and stopping at each point and told us some interesting facts about each location inside the city.
One criticism I have of this tour is the change in itinerary from having lunch by the river in the Ihlara Valley (which was the main reason for booking this tour) but unknown to us the restaurants by the river have been demolished. The tour information was clearly out of date and consequently gave us false information. Instead we had lunch at a rather unremarkable restaurant a few minutes drive from the Selime monastery and had unremarkable food, which was what we kind of expected from these tours.
Overall, I would still recommend this tour as you’ll experience some unique geographical landscapes you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

A must-see tour while in Cappadocia - We had a great experience with Mustafa Onur who took us to the Southern part of the Cappadocia region. The underground city of Derinkuyu was a quite exceptional and unique experience. Onur was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region and he shared a lot of info about the various aspects of Turkish culture. He was kind and friendly and on top of everything during the tour. This tour is highly recommended!

Cappadocia green tour 17/03/25 - Awesome tour. I especially loved the little hike in the valley. My friend loved the tour too, however she felt a bit rushed by our tour guide when we were exploring the underground caves.
