A scenic 45-minute drive from the town of St. George’s through the picturesque hilly interior of the Grand Etang Rain Forest Reserve leads to the Balthazar Estate. The first stop is Annandale Falls, where visitors can enjoy the tranquility of water cascading over rocks, bask in the beauty and sounds of the falls, or explore the surrounding gardens filled with flourishing tropical flowers and trees. The second stop is Grand Etang National Park, where a guided tour through the stunning rainforest leads to the world-renowned Grand Etang Crater Lake, situated 1,800 feet (550 m) above sea level and one of the island’s two crater lakes. At the Balthazar river tubing launch site, after a safety briefing, participants are equipped with a life vest and a river tube. The adventure is wet, wild, and wonderful, as guides accompany guests on a journey, gently spinning and swirling in the river’s currents, while taking in the exotic scenery of tropical vegetation and wildlife.
