Fascinating journey through the brewery. - Thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Friendly staff gave a great coverage of the history and the brewing process. The guide answered any questions we had and it was fun to be able to pour our own beer. Plus taking a mixed six pack of our choosing capped things off. Definitely value for money.

Cool experience 🍺 - Really good tour, our guide was really knowledgeable about the company, the brewing process & all of our questions. I don’t drink but still found it really interesting. Definitely worth a visit if you love a pint! Loads to choose from in the bar too!

Perfect trip - Amazing, we got our complementary 6 pack, and lots of time to chat with our guide, which was awesome. My partner got to have my tasters aswell. Because I don't drink beer, this was an amazing way to celebrate purchasing a home, our engagement and our anniversary as well 😀 highly recommend

Lovely beer, food and venue but badly understaffed - Loved the purpose built visitor centre and its large open woodfire. Couldn’t fault the beer and food, it was great. Loved how we could get modest sized tasting/share plates. When we went the place was packed with visitors and the car park was full so we parked on the street. As we entered we were lucky to be able grab a table near the bar and move the previous customers’ used plates, glasses and napkins to one side. We ordered a beer and a tasting paddle and loved all our choices and the food - I had prawns - was delicious. Unfortunately the place was so busy and there were only around four staff and they were absolutely swamped. The dirty dishes on our table weren’t collected for around 20 or 25 minutes and the food took 30 minutes to come. I felt sorry for the staff being under so much pressure to do their jobs. Someone messed up the staffing roster - it was Easter week - and they clearly couldn’t cope which was a real shame. We moved our own glasses to the bar so there was room for our food. I have no complaints about the venue, the beer, food or the service - the girl who served me for food and merchandise was very friendly and welcoming - but when the staff aren’t able to do their jobs properly mistakes and even accidents can happen so as a customer it was not good seeing the staff have to struggle.

Disappointing visit to Monteiths Brewery in Greymouth. - In New Zealand we got acquainted with Monteiths Black and we liked it so much that we bought it regularly in the supermarket. As we were travelling to the west coast of South Island, we decided to visit the brewery in Greymouth. Ordered 2 glasses of Monteiths Black upon arrival. The beer tasted good but the atmosphere was not good, there were 4 young ladies in the service where the grumpiness could be read on the face of each, there was no smile. Just by the I looked at t-shirts and there was a nice t-shirt hanging with it that I wanted. To the register to pay. I gave the t-shirt to the lady behind the till, she showed no emotion, t-shirt paid and it was returned to me, without a bag and receipt, I had to ask for that. I might as well have just taken the t-shirt straight from the rack and taken it with me, apparently no one cares. Normally we still order a 2nd beer with something to eat, but we have now left that behind, after having drunk our beer, we left again, what a disappointment, atmosphereless and customer-unfriendly. A nice t-shirt (hence 2 stars), apparently at least one person at the brewery still has a sense of humor....

Would not recommend this tour - Booked the tour the day before on line. Tour guide was knowledgeable however the tour was underwhelming. It is not a working brewery so very little to see or experience. Poured a beer & got a 6 pack of beer/ cider of our choice. Would not recommend this tour at the price of $40 per person, very overpriced, disappointed.
