Your personal guide will lead you through natural landscapes, ensuring your comfort and sharing insights about the area. For those interested, there’s an optional opportunity to ride your horse into the ocean, provided sea conditions are calm. However, this may be affected by Sargassum seaweed, a natural occurrence in the Caribbean since 2011, which varies with the tide. As an outdoor activity, be prepared for possible rain during the tour. If dangerous weather is forecasted, we will contact you to reschedule. Your guide will provide water and take as many photos as you’d like. St. Lucia’s climate includes a rainy season (June to December) with wet conditions, and a dry season (January to May) with drier trails but less greenery.

- All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Weight limit of 220lbs / 99kgs / 15st applies.
- Sometimes seaweed and sea conditions may prevent a swim with the horses.
- We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.
- Not recommended for travelers that have recently had surgery.
- Persons over the weight limit will not be allowed to participate.

We are located on Beach Drive opposite the East Gate of the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Beausejour. Take the first right and head on up the forest road which is a short hill. It's just 90 meters to the top. There is parking space available both at the top and bottom of the hill.

Best Excursion of the Week - After taking a number of excursions during the week - most of them crowded and sprawling with other cruise ship passengers - this excursion was a breath of fresh air. Right from the start, we were greeted with friendly hospitality upon entering the stable. A cute little puppy was also there to greet and play with us, as well. They provided locker boxes for us to keep our valuables, so no stress about that. Upon being led out to our horses, I was impressed by how healthy and well-cared-for their horses were. It is sad to see - on other beaches on other islands - other frail horses being ridden and exploited for photo ops on a beach for a 10-minute optic. You can tell Sandy Hoofs truly cares for and nourishes their animals. We were fortunate enough to ride on the "chill" horses: Lucky and Touvie.
Rather than a huge crowd, it was just my wife and I with our guide, Stefon, who was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, local, and really displayed an expertise in leading the horses as well as training the young ones. The landscapes Stefon led us through were breathtaking and really surprising: rugged trails through brush, sprawling hills, lovely pastures reminding us of the terrain back home, and ultimately, trails leading down to some stunning beaches that the horses seemed to delight in strolling through the sand and tide. We stopped for a picturesque break where Stefon shared his thoughts on all things from growing coconut trees, to local tourism, to horse behavior. We never felt rushed and we were able to just sit and bask in the sun and landscapes. Stefon offered to break long enough to let us swim on the beach, but the waves were a bit more than we wanted to deal with that day.
We made our way back in laid back fashion, taking in all the vistas and views and enjoying our time with the horses. I would book this tour again in a heartbeat, and if we ever return to St. Lucia, this will be a must-do. Can't recommend the people, the horses, and the scenery enough. This was exactly the kind of peaceful getaway we needed!

We had a really good time... - We had a really good time riding the horses. They walked us to the ocean and we got to ride them in the water. It was a peaceful and relaxing adventure

First Time Riders Celebrating Honeymoon! - My wife and I had an unbelievable time!! We are both first time riders, but that did not matter one bit. Desi was our guide and made sure we were safe and comfortable.
The 2 hr trip was awesome! It felt like the perfect amount of time for the excursion. We had the most fun taking the horses bareback into the ocean. Definitely an unforgettable experience.
The views were crazy. The staff was VERY helpful and friendly. 100% would do again!

This was a really fun... - This was a really fun experience and would definitely recommend. Neither of us are horse riders but they make it friendly to beginners. Riding a horse in the ocean is something really cool that we will never forget.

Dream come true! - Dream come true! Sandy Hoofs horseback riding…the beautiful vistas and down to the ocean for a dip in the water bareback! Desi was our guide, took great care with our horseback riding experience! Loved every minute of the ride! The horses are very well taken care of and even some cantering on the open beach! Highly recommend this 2 hour private horseback riding experience in St Lucia!

Amazing experience - Such a great experience! The horses are clearly well looked after and had a chat with the owner and got to choose the horse suitable for me and my experience level. Amazing canter along the beach, and dip in the sea on horse back which was a childhood dream come true. If I had more time I would be going again!

Great experience - I had a fantastic experience with Sandy Hoofs horseback riding in St. Lucia! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they made sure the ride was suited to my experience level.
You can really tell how much they care about their horses — the animals are calm, well cared for, and clearly loved. The whole experience was relaxed, beautiful, and so enjoyable.
Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting St. Lucia. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip!

Fantastic Morning - Had a fantastic morning at Sandy Hoofs. Staff were incredibly friendly. We arrived 20 mins late for our booking but they were completely relaxed about it. We were complete beginners but this wasn’t a problem at all. Big shout out to our guide Linden. Would highly recommended to anyone visiting St. Lucia

Just breath taking - If you are an inexperienced rider you will enjoy this place. They are incredible and take great care of you, the views are amazing and unbelievable scenery the whole 2 hours. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sandy Hoofs for a great experience

It was a good experience... - It was a good experience and very nice to see the beaches with the horses. Especially with it being a private excursion it made it very intimate. My only recommendation would be to have the guides be a little more peppy and talkative and maybe a better drive way for us with a rental car.
