Budakirkja - Built in 1703, the church faced closure by the Danish king in 1819. However, several residents fought for its restoration, and in 1849, they received permission to construct a new chapel. A woman named Steinunn preserved some of the old artifacts, allowing us to admire them today.

To prepare for your tour, dress warmly—the cave’s temperature stays just above freezing year-round, and gloves are recommended. Wear appropriate footwear such as hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers; for your safety, high heels, flat-bottom shoes, and flip-flops are not allowed. While the tour is relatively easy, participants must have the physical ability to navigate uneven surfaces and stairs. With these simple preparations, you’re all set for an unforgettable journey toward the center of the Earth!
