• Berserkjahraun - The journey begins at the Berserkjahraun lava field, formed approximately 4,000 years ago following the eruptions of three nearby volcanoes in quick succession. The name is linked to an intriguing tale from the Viking era. The guide will share this story and lead the way to a hidden waterfall.
• Kirkjufell Mountain - Next is Kirkjufell Mountain, Iceland’s most photographed peak, famously featured in “Game of Thrones.” It is encircled by a stunning waterfall, and there will be ample time to explore the walking paths around the area.
• Hellissandur - A visit to the murals and a brief lunch stop will be made in this picturesque town.
• Saxholl Crater - Numerous volcanic craters are visible during the drive, and now it’s time to explore one of the dormant craters on the peninsula. Saxhóll, formed around 3,000 years ago, stands 100 meters high. A staircase provides easy access to the top, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding lava fields.
• Djupalonssandur Beach - Known for its black sand beaches, Iceland’s Djúpalónssandur is sure to impress. Historically, it served as a harbor for fishing boats, where fishermen had to demonstrate their strength by lifting stones of varying weights to earn a spot on the boats. These stones remain on the beach, offering a chance to test one’s own strength.
• Arnarstapi - The next destination is Arnarstapi, a charming fishing village. Over time, powerful waves have sculpted the cliffs into the stunning rock formations visible today. Additionally, a sculpture of Bárður Snæfellsás, the guardian of the Peninsula, is located here.
• Budakirkja - Built in 1703, the church faced closure by the Danish king in 1819. However, local residents fought for its restoration, and in 1849, permission was granted to construct a new chapel. Thanks to a woman named Steinunn, who preserved some of the original artifacts, they can still be seen today.
• Ytri Tunga Beach - As the journey heads back to Reykjavik, there will be a final stop at a beautiful golden beach. Large seal colonies inhabit this beach year-round, and the guide will direct visitors to where they can observe them.

To prepare for your tour, dress warmly—the cave’s temperature stays just above freezing year-round, and gloves are recommended. Wear appropriate footwear such as hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers; for your safety, high heels, flat-bottom shoes, and flip-flops are not allowed. While the tour is relatively easy, participants must have the physical ability to navigate uneven surfaces and stairs.
