The journey from Antigua takes approximately an hour and a half to reach the Miratenango viewpoint, saving 1.5 hours of hiking time compared to the usual trekking duration.
Acatenango Volcano Adventure - The hike begins at 11:00 AM with a lunch break halfway. Upon reaching the Glamping site at 3:30 PM, enjoy a refreshing noodle soup. The powerful sounds of Fuego Volcano’s eruptions and the twinkling stars illuminating the sky will fill you with joy. Unwind in the relaxing areas and around the campfire with hot chocolate, coffee, and roasted marshmallows.
Sunrise Summit Hike
Acatenango Volcano - Rise at 3:30 AM for the sunrise summit hike. Upon reaching the peak, experience a breathtaking sunrise over the Antigua Valley, Pacific Coast, and Ring of Fire. Return to basecamp for coffee and oatmeal. Then, descend for about 4 hours to Miratenango and head back to Antigua by shuttle at 2:00 PM.
