A Fun Mexican Experience - The Jose Cuervo train looked interesting, but as it only runs on weekends we too a mid-day bus tour, which worked out great. We were able to visit an agave field and talk to the owners, a boutique distillery, and finally the Big Dog distillery Jose Cuervo. In many ways the process is similar to the Kentucky bourbon Trail. The transit to and from Tequila is a bit long, one-hour going from Guadalajara and two-hours, (with traffic) returning. Still a very enjoyable and educational day.

Pleasant tasting experience of the world recognized spirit. - The explanation of the elaboration was very interesting when knowing how its main raw material is grown, which is agave. Then learn about the process of making this traditional drink recognized worldwide.

Must see Tequila tour! - Dante our tour guide was awesome. He was so informative about the area, history, culture- anything we asked he was happy to explain. The first distillery was a charming tour. Beautiful buildings. Second distillery was La Rojena- wow what an operation! Tequila town square was small and easy to wander around. We wandered off and it with the locals near the church. Would recommend the trip to anyone.

Great day in Tequila - First - Ramon was excellent. Great communication for the pick up at the hotel. The explanations and answering questions was much appreciated. Tequila is a beautiful little town. The three stops - the blue agave field, Selecto Distillery and Jose Cuervo tour were informative and entertaining. Many tastings and explanation of how best to taste. Just a really great day. Be prepared, bring snacks and water as they are not provided. (Except at the very beginning). It can be pretty hot so dress lightly. The roads are extremely bumpy and especially on a holiday weekend like I went - the traffic was horrendous. (Roman did his best to navigate around)

AGAVE plants, he has plenty of fields - View of Agave plants on the road, it takes 7 to 10 years before they mature. Plants can weigh up to 250 pounds.

Fun and educational day learning about Tequila - The trip to Tequila was a very fun filled and educational day. The two highlights for us were learning how the agave plant is grown and harvested and visiting the artisanal Tequila plant. We learned a lot about the varieties of Tequila and now know what to buy. The trip to the more industrial Jose Cuervo factory was okay, but not really a highlight, especially since the tastings were very limited. Most of the tour attendees were Spanish speakers but the guide did an excellent job of explaining things to the English speakers.

Poorly organized excursion and no professionalism - The visit did not go as planned: the distillery was closed, no alternative offered, no call the day before to organize and no excuses. Very disappointing for an excursion that was supposed to be well planned.
