The food was great - but it's so much more than food! - It was our first time in Guadalajara and in Mexico. Having this tour on the first day was just a fantastic start to our experience. The food, the walk, and the suggestions for our next days were just great! With Diego, we could experience the things we would never discover on our own. In fact, we so much liked our lunch at El Pilon that we couldn't leave Guadalajara without having another meal there. But it's not only about food - it's about showing the Guadalajara way, the orientation, the best of the city.

If you want a great city tour that includes food, do this one! Diego is a local and very educated in Mexican history. - Honestly didn’t expect much more than a few food stops but we got so much interesting information from Diego. We enjoyed chatting with him and spending a good part of the day in the town center. The food was excellent and a great opportunity to be a little adventurous!

The essence of Guadalajara - Our group was visiting Guadalajara to celebrate milestone birthdays and decided that we wanted a low-key itinerary unlike our trips from years past. Although Diego started out by asking if we were having mid-life crises, he quickly more than redeemed himself with the attention and care he showed us during our time with him. Diego's love for his hometown shone brightly as he shared Guadalajara's rich history with us. No matter what random tangential question we threw at him, he was able to answer it and then some. Diego's interactions with local food and market vendors showcased his ability to connect with people as well as his respect for those who watched him grow and mature. The food was unbelievable and getting to see / taste / shop for things that you would not be able to get mainstream was the highlight of the tour. Diego ensured that our tour was filled with experiences that he considered the heart of the city. I would highly recommend Diego if you wanting to learn more about Mexican culture from someone who exudes the true essence of Guadalajara.

Best tour guide ever - Diego is honestly one of the best tour guides I've ever had! He was not just knowledgeable on the food/history that was planned, but also random things we would ask him in passing. The food we tried was amazing, with great history behind it. And when we wanted to try other foods that weren't on the itinerary, he was happy to find it and even help us get samples of others. It was such a perk to have Diego show us around the market since he was able to communicate with the vendors. We never felt rushed, especially as a big group, and he even became our official photographer, suggesting photo ops. If you're ever in Guadalajara, I'd highly recommend him. By the end he became one of the group, we felt so lucky to have found him to guide us around!

A fun and educational tour around Guadalajara! - We booked this tour for a girls' trip. Diego was very knowledgeable and his love and pride for Guadalajara was palpable. We had a great time - he answered all of our questions walking through the market and around the city. The tour was relaxed and we didn't feel rushed. He took lots of great pictures for our group in front of landmarks and we enjoyed getting to know him. By the end of the day, he definitely felt more like a friend, not just a guide! Would highly recommend!

Worth it and a MUST do. - Diego was super awesome! He really knew what he was talking about and doing and you could tell he had built personal relationships with everyone at the market. The food was amazing too. It really is a worthwhile experience and a MUST do when you’re in Guadalajara out of all the street food tours. He’s super personable and makes you feel like a close friend and you know it’s genuine. We’re so grateful and so glad we booked this experience. If you’re doubting it, don’t. Just book. He has such a passion for it all and the fact he grew up around all of the people there was a plus. Thank you Diego! Also… I know the birria is optional but you have to do it. I’m not a fan of goat but they really do such a great job of seasoning and treating their meat.

Worth it! Don’t question it just book - I had an amazing time on this tour in Guadalajara! Diego is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history about each site we visited. He gave us plenty of time to explore and shop, and also took us to some fantastic local spots to try delicious food. The tacos de barbacoa were unforgettable! The tour was well-organized and felt very personalized. Diego offers other tours too—honestly, I wish I had booked all my tours with him. Highly recommend!
