3. Academy of Chen Clan, or The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall (1 hour to visit)

   Built by the 72 Chen clans in 1894 during the Qing Dynasty, this academic temple served as accommodation for juniors preparing for imperial exams. It features traditional Canton architecture with rich decorations, including wood, stone, brick carvings, pottery, plaster, and iron engravings.

4. Shamian Island (40 minutes to visit)

   Stroll through this area with European architectural styles, a former British and French colony from 100 years ago.

5. Yuexiu Park (1 hour to visit)

   The largest city park in downtown Guangzhou, featuring the 5-ram statue, Zhenhai Tower, and an old city wall.

6. Guangxiao Temple (40 minutes to visit)

   One of Guangzhou’s oldest Buddhist temples, with well-preserved ancient buildings, statues, and trees.

7. Six Banyan Temple (30 minutes to visit)

   Among the oldest Buddhist temples in Guangzhou, its history dates back 1,500 years. The Flower Pagoda is the temple’s main structure.

8. Beijing Road (1 hour to visit)

   One of China’s top 10 pedestrian shopping streets, featuring ancient pavements from various dynasties beneath the modern road, showcasing the area’s long history. It’s also a great shopping destination.

9. Canton Tower (1 hour to visit)

   The third tallest TV tower in the world, standing at 600 meters. Admission to ascend the tower is at your own expense.
