Great tour. Entertaining... - Great tour. Entertaining and educational with lots of hands-on opportunities. We were able to grind coffee beans and make empanadas and get a coffee scrub on our arms and sample coffee from the plantation.

A must do when visiting... - A must do when visiting Costa Rica even if you’re not a coffee lover! Tio Leo has the knowledge and obviously the love of what he is teaching. The staff were so welcoming as well!

Great time except for the wrong product given to me - Excellent tour, very informative. Unfortunately the skin care product I purchased was not what the assistant had put on my face. The one I was given is harsh and burns the face.

Beautiful 4-5 hr experience - Uncle Tio truly loves his life and coffee. His passion and care shows in everything he does. I loved learning about not only coffee but sugar cane, how to make traditional masa empanadas, cocoa and native CR plants.

Authentic, Delicious, and Unforgettable Coffee tour - TÃo Leo Coffee Tour was an absolutely authentic and amazing experience from start to finish. The homemade empanadas were delicious, and the coffee education was both engaging and informative, giving real insight into the process from bean to cup. Walking through the garden made the experience even more special, you can truly feel the care, tradition, and passion behind everything they do.

Awesome experience - Genuinely great experience at a great price point! We were a bit worried it would be a touristy trap, however it was far from. Tio Leo lead our group through history of coffee in Costa Rica and we tasted samples, then we enjoyed an empanada cooking class, learned about and tasted sugar cane, and learned about cocoa beans and the production of chocolate. The tour ended with a walk through their gardens and learning about all the plants and naturopathic remedies - I’d recommend bringing bug spray for this portion. We were there for about 4 hours and ate a ton! They were also very considerate of allergies. Great for all ages!

A True Experience. - No transportation is offered, and at first it doesn't look like much, but it's a great experience. We learned about organic coffee farming, roasting of coffee beans, sugar cane, and coca. We made delicious corn empanadas with black beans on an open fire. Tio Leo is such an interesting and informative person and "Drama Queen" was gracious. Well worth what you pay, and then some.
