Antigua's monasteries and churches - The English-speaking travel companion, Rubén Sanches, has made a very informative, yet entertaining tour around Antigua's monasteries and churches. I remember this short trip very well.

Antigua Tour - The guide in Antigua was great. From Guatemala City to Antigua it was basically a shuttle. Our guide once dropped off in Antigua was friendly, humorous & very knowledgeable. It ended up being a bilingual tour and he transitioned between Spanish & English perfectly. Antigua is quaint & beautiful. Lots of churches! I enjoyed the experience

Old colonial city and strong indigenous influence - Beautiful colonial city, very well preserved. I recommend reading the book My Old Life before going. Despite being small, you feel a little insecure.

Didn’t follow itinerary - We started the tour by visiting a hotel, jade museum, and a marketplace, it was evident the tour guide got commission from all 3 places. That took up about 3 hours then lunch then we were able to visit the arch and one of the churches. We didn’t go to the second church nor the top of the hill viewpoint as the itinerary stated.
