Authentic Coco farm tour with cooking lesson and lunch! - We were on a short layover on the way home from visiting the Galapagos Islands. I feel so blessed that we found this wonderful tour to spend our last day in Guayaquil. Our guide, Francisco, picked us up at our hotel in a very comfortable and air-conditioned car for the drive to the Coco farm. Along the way, he pointed out the wonderful wildlife we saw along the way and shared some of Ecuador‘s history. The Coco farm we visited was owned and operated by a local family while we toward the farm, a wonderful lunch was prepared for us. This is truly an authentic experience to see how cocoa beans are grown harvested, roasted, and prepared. We got to participate in making chocolate bars as well if you are looking for an authentic experience while in GayaquiI I highly recommend this tour with Francisco. He speaks excellent English and Spanish.

Fabulous authentic experience at wonderful family coco/fruit farm with a fabulous english speaking guide Francisco!! - We were in Guayaquil for a short layover on the way home from the Galapagos Islands and on very short notice, decided to try to find a tour guide to show us the real Ecuador. We were very lucky to find Francisco, who took us on a wonderful tour of a family owned, and operated organic coco farm. .Rody & Alexandra run the farm and they are so welcoming into their home so you get a real view of life here. Alexandra prepares a local dish along with instructions while you watch. This will be lunch after Rody shows you how they harvest, roast, dry, and prepare the coco beans which turn into the most delicious chocolate bars before your eyes! Francisco does a great job of translating for Rody if you do not speak Spanish. You get an in-depth look at just how life is on a farm in Ecuador. Transportation is in a very comfortable air-conditioned car, and Francisco provides a lot of local knowledge of the bird and plant life along the way. I highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed.

Cocoa and tropical fruit - Francisco is a wonderful guide. He was highly recommended by our hotel and he did not disappoint! The cocoa farm was interesting, educational and delicious! In addition to cocoa they grow 35 varieties of tropical fruit, many of which we tasted right off the tree! I have never had such sweet mango before! The chocolate making process was amazing, and we experienced every step. We also had a lovely lunch with local food and drinks.
